When Success Changes: Redefining Ambition in Motherhood | Ryann Watkin Featured in Beyond the 9 to 5 Ceiling Summit

In this special episode of Raising Wild Hearts, I’m stepping onto the other side of the microphone and sharing my guest appearance on the Beyond the 9 to 5 Ceiling Summit. We talk about what happens when the life you’ve built—or the way you’ve been working—no longer fits the woman you’ve become. I share my own journey from leaving a traditional career, through entrepreneurship and motherhood, to realizing that sometimes creating the life you truly want requires slowing down, listening inward, and having the courage to choose differently. We explore the tension between ambition and presence, why perceived security can keep us stuck, what it means to start before you feel ready, and how small courageous choices begin to build an entirely different future. We also talk about purpose, community, motherhood, redefining success, and why finding your people can make all the difference when you’re walking a path that doesn’t look traditional. If you’ve been feeling a quiet pull toward something different—more intention, more connection, more purpose, or simply a life that feels more like yours—this conversation is for you. 🪷Rise & Flourish LIVE | Delray Beach, FL | Sat. 9-26 | Learn More & Reserve Your Spot Support the show 💃 Wanna meet IRL? Happier Summer Series Part 12: Balancing Doing with Being & Becoming Aware of the Self-Help Trap with Danielle Neufeld

Have we become so focused on improving our lives that we’ve forgotten to actually live them? In this final episode of the Happier Summer Series, I’m joined by Danielle Neufeld, co-host of The Most Important Thing, for a fascinating conversation about happiness, ambition, parenting, perfectionism—and the very fine line between personal growth and constantly feeling like there’s something about ourselves that needs to be fixed. We dig into what Danielle calls the difference between a “painkiller” and a “vitamin”: some tools, experts, books, podcasts, and parenting advice can be incredibly valuable when we genuinely need them. But when we start reaching for them constantly, we can accidentally create the belief that every uncomfortable moment is a problem we need to solve. We also explore what it means to balance striving with softness, why Danielle is intentionally raising her children to be creators rather than just consumers, and how we can get better at asking ourselves, What do I actually need right now? Danielle also shares one of my favorite happiness practices of this entire series: a simple five-minute nighttime ritual where she “rewinds” her day, hour by hour. Instead of allowing one difficult moment to define the entire day, she gets to see the full picture—the things that went well, the meaningful moments she might have missed, and all the life that happened in between. In this episode, we explore: • When self-help becomes another form of pressure • The “painkiller vs. vitamin” approach to personal growth • Why happiness can include both striving and simply being • Perfectionism, rumination, and the stories we replay at night • Teaching our kids to think critically about what they consume • Building a life around relationships, community, and connection • Danielle’s five-minute “rewind your day” happiness practice Maybe happiness isn’t waiting on the other side of becoming a better version of yourself. Maybe some of it is already here—and we just need to slow down long enough to notice it. Happier Summer Series Part 11: Happiness Isn't Something You Chase or Earn, It's Something You Remember with Sarah Gyampoh

What if happiness isn't something you have to chase... but something you simply need to remember? We've been taught to believe that happiness lives somewhere outside of us—waiting on the other side of success, the perfect circumstances, or the next big milestone. But what if that's the very thing keeping us from experiencing it? In this episode of the Happier Series, I'm joined by author and mindful motherhood guide Sarah Gyampoh for a refreshing conversation about why happiness is much simpler than we've been led to believe. Together, we explore how happiness isn't the absence of hard emotions, but an inner state we can return to—even in life's most challenging seasons. We talk about the surprising power of daily rituals, learning to attune to ourselves before everyone else, navigating difficult emotions without getting stuck in them, and why self-forgiveness may be one of the most overlooked happiness practices of all. If you've been feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or like happiness is always just out of reach, I hope this conversation reminds you that the peace you're looking for may already be within you. In this episode, we discuss: • Why happiness is our birthright—not something we have to earn • The difference between happiness, joy, peace, and contentment • How to stop outsourcing your happiness to external circumstances • Simple daily rituals that help you reconnect with yourself • The power of emotional awareness and the Feelings Wheel • Why healing doesn't erase happiness—it uncovers it • How self-forgiveness helps us return to our truest selves • Practical ways to stay grounded during difficult seasons Resources & Links Connect with Sarah: https://sarahgyampoh.com/ Get Your Copy of The Mindful Mother's Way Explore the Feelings Wheel: https://blog.calm.com/blog/the-feelings-wheel 🪷Rise & Flourish LIVE | Delray Beach, FL | Sat. 9-26 | Learn More & Reserve Your Spot Support the show 💃 Wanna meet IRL? Happier Summer Series Part 10: If You're Pursuing Happiness You May Never Find It | How Curiosity and Growth Fuel a Happier Life with Candace Lehenbauer

As parents, educators, and caregivers, we're constantly giving—to our children, our students, our families, and our communities. But what if the key to lasting happiness isn't giving more... it's being more intentional about what fills you first? In this episode, I sit down with mom of six, educator, and microschool founder Candace "Candi" Lehenbauer to explore her simple yet powerful philosophy: you can't serve from an empty platter. Together, we talk about overcoming comparison, cultivating curiosity, embracing lifelong learning, and creating daily rhythms that allow us to pour into others from a place of fullness instead of depletion. 🔗Connect with Candace on Linked In We also unpack a parenting phrase that I'm skeptical of—"you're only as happy as your unhappiest child"—and ask whether staying grounded ourselves might actually be one of the greatest gifts we can give our kids. If you've been feeling stretched thin, running on empty, or simply longing for more joy in the everyday, this conversation will remind you that caring for yourself isn't taking away from the people you love—it's one of the best ways to love them. 🪷Rise & Flourish LIVE | Delray Beach, FL | Sat. 9-26 | Learn More & Reserve Your Spot Support the show 💃 Wanna meet IRL? What if the reason you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or out of alignment has nothing to do with your habits—and everything to do with trying to be someone you're not? 📝Take the Quiz 📙Get Eric's Book In this thought-provoking conversation, Ryann sits down with personality expert and author Eric Gee to explore how understanding your personality type can unlock greater happiness, stronger relationships, and a deeper sense of authenticity. For more than 20 years, Eric has helped people discover how they're uniquely wired, using a personality framework that goes far beyond labels and stereotypes. Together, they discuss why self-help advice doesn't work for everyone, how childhood labels can shape our identity, and why so many adults wake up one day realizing they've built a life based on someone else's definition of success. Whether you're a parent hoping to better understand your child, an educator looking to support the unique strengths of your students, or simply someone on a journey of self-discovery, this episode offers a fresh perspective on what it means to truly know yourself. In this episode of the Happier Series, I sit down with wellness coach and embodiment teacher Ariel Griglin to explore a missing piece in many personal growth journeys: the body. Together, we discuss why happiness is our birthright—but not something that happens automatically. Ariel shares how simple practices like movement, grounding, and reconnecting with our physical bodies can help us feel more present, empowered, and aligned. We also dive into the difference between healthy stress and burnout, how our bodies communicate important messages through symptoms and sensations, and why many of us have become disconnected from ourselves in the first place.  Whether you're a parent, educator, caregiver, or simply someone who feels like you've been living "from the neck up," this conversation offers practical tools to help you come back home to yourself. In this episode, you'll learn: • Why mindset work alone isn't always enough • The connection between body awareness and happiness • Simple grounding practices you can use anywhere • How to tell the difference between healthy stress and overwhelm • Why movement is one of the most overlooked wellbeing tools • Ways to model body awareness and emotional health for children • How to use your body as a source of intuition and guidance Sometimes the next step forward isn't another strategy, book, or affirmation.
