    In Matthew 22:23–33, the Sadducees come to Jesus with a question designed to trap Him and undermine the doctrine of the resurrection. Since they denied the resurrection, they presented what they thought was an impossible scenario. But Jesus exposes the real problem: they did not understand the Scriptures or the power of God. With divine wisdom and authority, Jesus defends the truth of the resurrection and shows that God is not the God of the dead, but of the living. His answer not only silences false teaching, but also strengthens the hope of every believer. The resurrection is not a minor doctrine or a general idea. It is a central promise of God, rooted in His Word and secured by His power.     How should Christians respond when the truth is opposed? In 2 Timothy 2:23–26, Paul gives Timothy clear instruction for handling controversy, correction, and conflict in the church. The servant of the Lord must not be quarrelsome, even when dealing with those who are difficult, deceived, or resistant to the truth. Instead, he must be kind, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, and correcting opponents with gentleness. This passage reminds us that faithfulness to God’s truth is not measured only by what we say, but also by how we say it. Biblical correction must be rooted in humility, patience, and confidence in the Lord. We cannot force repentance, win hearts by argument, or change minds by harshness. We speak the truth clearly, but we trust God alone to grant repentance and bring people to a knowledge of the truth. In this sermon, Pastor Todd Fletcher continues the series through 2 Timothy by showing how the presentation of God’s truth must reflect the character of Christ. Christians are called to avoid foolish and ignorant controversies, resist the spirit of quarrelsomeness, and minister with the hope that God may rescue sinners from the snare of the devil.

The book of Nahum introduces us to the true and living God—a God who is just, zealous for His glory, and wrathful against sin, yet who calls people to repentance and offers mercy through Christ. This message calls us to know God as He truly is—not as we imagine Him to be. There is an urgency in the message of do not waste the mercy of God. “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God” (Hebrews 10:31)… but… “everyone who believes in Christ will not be put to shame” (Romans10:11) The God who judges sin is the same God who saves sinners.
