    Let Freedom Ring

Title: “The Freedom Ride - Finding freedom where boundaries are understood ” Total time: 25:51 Release date: July 5th, 2021 Hashtags: #freedomfromdiets  #beintentional #spiritualjourney #boundaries Summary: Do you check boxes to reach goals? Are you a rule follower? Or do you do whatever you want because life is short, or God has saved you and given you Grace? The lives of legalism and license are dangerous to both our relationships with God and anything or anyone else. Life is made to have balance. Although the term “boundary” may be off-putting, it is what God has given us to live our best lives. God created boundaries for us out of love. Listen to hear about the freedom from legalism and license can set your life free in a way you never knew existed. You’ll hear: How your spiritual journey is like riding a horse: Your destination is always moving toward God The difference between legalism and license in reference to the Bible & Christ The difference between legalism and license in reference to the world of diets Checking boxes in terms of rules and guidelines in Christianity & nutrition can create an unrealistic reality of your relationship with God & yourself Just because we can, doesn’t mean that we should The middle ground of legalism and license is boundaries Some questions Danielle addresses on the show: What are legalism and license?  Are you a “box-checker” in terms of your relationship with Christ? With your relationship with your body? Do you really love Christ if you are going out and doing all the fleshly acts and treating your relationship with Him like crap? Call to Action: Assess your relationship with God. What are the boundaries he has created out of love for you? What do they look like? Then, assess your relationship with yourself. Are you setting boundaries for yourself to be healthy both physically and mentally? How are the two of those relationships similar?  In the comments of this post, please share any interesting revelations that are helpful.  Scripture mentioned: Believer’s Freedom in 1 Corinthians 10:23 “I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive. Galatians 5:13 You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. About Danielle’s experience reading Grit by Angela Duckworth & its research that leads to tips to develop long-lasting Grit Book 1: Grit, Angela Duckworth Quotes about grit and growth: “No one wants to show you the hours and hours of becoming. They’d rather show you the highlight of what they’ve become.” “‘It’s about the in-the-moment self-awareness without judgement, [Terry Laughlin} continued. “It’s about relieving yourself of the judgement that gets in the way of enjoying the challenge.’” “Grit depends on a different kind of hope. It rests on the expectation that our own efforts can improve the future. I have a feeling tomorrow will be better  is different from I resolve to make tomorrow better. The hope that gritty people have has nothing to do with luck and everything to do with getting up again.” Book 2: Rosie Revere, Engineer, Andrea Beaty “Your brilliant first flop was a raging success! Come on, let's get busy and on to the next!" She handed a notebook to Rosie Revere, who smiled at her aunt as it all became clear. Life might have its failures, but this was not it.
