Cosm LA (Inglewood) Review: Shared Reality Movie Experience Watching IT (2017)

Angry Dad re-watches IT (2017) mostly to talk about visiting Cosm (cosm.com) in Inglewood, California, describing it as a shared-reality, sphere-style immersive venue with a massive curved screen that enhances the movie with extended visuals, lights, and movement. He briefly covers the film’s premise, mentions IMDb 7.3/10, TMDB 7.2/10, Rotten Tomatoes 85%, and says he’d rate it closer to an 8, noting horror isn’t usually his genre. He explains Cosm sells out fast and must be booked in advance, highlights lounge seating with in-service food and drinks, and shares what they ordered, pricing around $50 per person, and complaints about the U-shaped seating. He also notes Cosm shows sports and events (UFC, WWE, NFL preseason) and lists current offerings like The Matrix, Harry Potter, Willy Wonka, and Cirque du Soleil. Security (2017) Review: Antonio Banderas Mall Action Thriller Worth Watching?

Angry Dad reviews the 2017 action-thriller “Security,” starring Antonio Banderas and Ben Kingsley, calling it a fun, B‑class, ’80s/’90s-style “mindless violence” movie that’s easy to throw on and enjoy. He summarizes the premise of a former elite soldier working mall security who must protect a female witness from a gang during a storm, praising how the action stays grounded by using believable mall items and situations. He highlights Banderas as a rugged, credible action lead who has to think his way through problems, and says Kingsley makes a strong villain. He notes the IMDb 5.8/10 and Rotten Tomatoes 35 scores but personally rates it higher, recommends watching it on Amazon Prime, and shares the film’s basic details, then plugs where to find the podcast. Under Siege 2: Dark Territory (1995) Review — Peak ’90s Steven Seagal Action on a Train

Angry Dad hosts Your Dad’s Action Movie Podcast and reviews Under Siege 2: Dark Territory (1995), explaining his lifelong love of action movies from growing up at drive-in theaters where his mom let him watch them, and how that shaped what he shares with his own kids. He reads the film’s synopsis about former Navy SEAL Casey Ryback taking a train trip with his niece before hijackers led by Travis Dane take over, forcing Ryback to stop them, and he lists release details (July 14, 1995; directed by Geoff Murphy; 1h40m; $60M budget; R rating; Warner Bros.). He dismisses current IMDb/Rotten Tomatoes/Letterboxd scores, calls it a must-watch “peak ’90s” action movie, highlights the cast and set pieces, and notes it can be enjoyed without seeing Under Siege 1, though it’s also a classic. Coyote vs Acme Review: Why This PG Looney Tunes Movie Works for Kids & Adults

Angry Dad reviews “Coyote vs Acme” after seeing it in theaters with his wife and son, strongly recommending it as a funny, nostalgia-filled PG action-comedy adventure with both kid humor and plenty of adult humor. He cites its scores (7.6/10, 96% Rotten Tomatoes, 7.7 on TMDB) and reads the synopsis about Wile E. Coyote hiring a down-on-his-luck lawyer to sue Acme after repeated product failures. He notes the release date (August 28, 2026), director Dave Green, and James Gunn’s involvement (story and producer), plus a 1 hour 43 minute runtime and distribution by Ketchup Entertainment. He praises Will Forte’s chemistry with Wile E. Coyote and John Cena as a villain, saying the cast nails their roles and the movie is worth seeing in theaters or streaming with family. Odyssey (2026) Review: Christopher Nolan’s 3-Hour IMAX Epic — Worth Watching?

Angry Dad reviews Odyssey (2026) on his Dad’s Action Movie podcast and gives it a strong “yes” recommendation, saying it’s worth seeing in theaters, ideally on IMAX. He went to an AMC (small IMAX) and notes the Concord theater seats didn’t recline, though the experience was still good. Despite hearing controversy about inaccuracies, he found the nearly three-hour film (2:52) flew by due to strong pacing, direction, and flow. He agrees with high audience/critic scores (IMDb 8.4/10, Rotten Tomatoes 94%, Fandango 97%) and praises performances from Matt Damon (his favorite and the main character), Tom Holland, Charlize Theron, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson as a hateable villain, and Jon Bernthal. He reads the synopsis about the King of Ithaca returning from the Trojan War, mentions Christopher Nolan as director, and promotes where to find the podcast. The Dark Military Explained: Loren W. Lepre on Concept, Villains, and Indie Filmmaking Challenges

Angry Dad interviews returning guest Loren W. Lepre (Lepre Terror), writer/director/star of the horror-action film The Dark Military, and reads its synopsis about a tech-upgraded Halloween game where the Dark Military hunts young people while the killings are broadcast online. Lepre explains his influences (Devil’s Rejects, Scream, 24, Battle Royale, Mad Max), his goal of creating new horror icons with varied victims, and why he kept the villains human and the costumes simple for believability and cosplay. They discuss pacing, action-horror style, music choices, some off-screen kills due to time constraints, character moments like Barabbas’ speeches and the “walk among you” ending, and behind-the-scenes production issues including a major file corruption scare resolved by a recovery company. Lepri promotes the sequel short Dark Military Rogue on YouTube and notes plans for a larger third film requiring more funding and shooting time. Guest Loren W. TWIST Ending Shock: Found-Footage Thriller "Camera X"

Angry Dad hosts an episode of Your Dad’s Action Movie Podcast with guest filmmaker Loren W. Lepre to discuss Lepre’s new found-footage feature Camera X, available to stream on Tubi. They read the IMDb synopsis about children going missing in a rural town and a small group seeking vengeance while college film students document the plan, and they talk about the film’s hard-hitting premise, “movie within a movie” approach, breadcrumbs, a major twist, and an ending that surprised and frustrated viewers while intentionally reflecting current culture and leaving the door open for a sequel. Lepre introduces himself as a Pennsylvania veteran with extensive indie film experience, describes forming Average Superstar Films, running 26 film festivals at the Trocadero in Philadelphia, and directing the documentary Pennsylvania Hardcore (free on YouTube). He also plugs his horror franchise Dark Military (free on Tubi, Plex, and Sumo) and the bridging short Dark Military Rogue (free on YouTube via Average Superstar TV and permitted to be re-uploaded). The conversation covers Camera X’s stylistic choices such as avoiding shaky cam by shooting over actors’ shoulders with a DP, showing film-student lighting setups, adding drone transitions and montage segments, using punk/track-driven music rather than a traditional score, and the marketing origin of the “Camera X” title after “To Kill a Pedophile” was rejected. They discuss pushback, death threats, and distribution hesitation due to the subject matter, along with broader commentary on suspending disbelief, modern movie reboots, theater experiences, and the realities of indie filmmaking, including out-of-pocket budgets, tight one-week location shoots, and skepticism toward small Indiegogo campaigns. The episode ends with Lepre sharing where to find him (X/Instagram/Facebook, averagesuperstarfilms.com, and the Average Superstar TV YouTube channel) and Angry Dad promoting his podcast platforms and the Inner Circle Podcast Network.
