Sisternomics

Monique Caradine Kitchens

Sisternomics is a personal growth and entrepreneurship podcast about business, money, leadership, reinvention and the life you want now. Hosted by veteran journalist, Certified Coach and storyteller Monique Caradine-Kitchens, it explores what total abundance looks like in real time for real women. For Black women entrepreneurs, leaders and visionaries over 45, abundance hits differently. So, through honest solo episodes and thoughtful conversations, we talk about making great money, building wealth, doing work you love and creating freedom without losing yourself to hustle. We also make room for caregiving, empty nesting, menopause and the other realities shaping our decisions in this season of life. If you're growing a business, navigating a career pivot, reclaiming your voice or asking, "What else is possible for me now?" Sisternomics is for you. Abundance is bigger than money. It's having choices. Trusting yourself. Being able to rest. And giving yourself permission to want something different, even after everything you've already accomplished. This is living from the OverFlow. === Sisternomics is produced by OverFlow Enterprises, a media and personal development company for women over 45 who know there is still more waiting for them.

Old School vs. New School: How a Teacher-turned-entrepreneur Is Helping Kids Actually Learn

School is now in session and already we're seeing teachers on IG and TikTok talking about how hard it is to teach these days. They're fed up with the poor performance, bad behavior and lack of respect they get. Tajiri Freedom joins me to talk about what's actually happening in schools and what prompted her to start her own.  As a teacher, she saw kids being pushed from grade to grade even though they were not equipped. Is this happening with your kids? In this convo, Tajiri shares warning signs to watch for, questions to ask at school and ways families and teachers can work together.  Highlights What Tajiri saw while teaching seventh graders Why kids can barely read, write or do math Why parents must partner with teachers The writing, money and entrepreneurship skills her students practice Mentioned in this episode Learn more about Tajiri Freedom and New Gains Academy at https://newgainsacademy.com. The Frequency of Heaven.

What have you been listening to lately? I don't just mean music. I mean the news, the conversations around you, and the thoughts that stay on repeat in your head. In this solo episode, I'm talking about frequency as a spiritual way to think about what we consume and what we give our attention to.  I share a financial breakthrough that began with worship and gratitude, and what serving in Puerto Rico for 14 months after Hurricane Maria taught me about provision during difficult times. If you've been feeling off, here are some ways you can get and stay tuned in to the frequency of heaven. Highlights 03:23 The frequency of the world versus the frequency of heaven 07:42 The financial breakthrough that followed worship and gratitude 11:12 Serving in Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria 14:23 Speaking life over what you're believing for 16:25 Guarding your ears 19:27 How your closest relationships affect you Scriptures to study: Romans 4:17, Genesis 1:3, Genesis 17:5, Psalm 33:9, Hebrews 11:3, Mark 11:23, Proverbs 18:21, 2 Corinthians 4:13  Music at the beginning and end of this episode comes from the Meditative Mind YouTube Channel. How to feel better in your body.

You deserve to feel good in your body. So, I'm bringing this Sisternomics conversation back because the message still matters. I'm also bringing it back because I still hear people saying, "I just don't feel like myself..." It doesn't have to be that way! Dr. Karleena Tuggle McDaniel, aka Dr. K, explains how deficiencies in Vitamin D and iron can affect our energy, immunity and long-term health. She also breaks down the connection between gut health and mental clarity. Then we get into the business story. Dr. K shares how she and her husband turned frustration into ProBlk Health, a supplement company created with the needs of the Black community in mind. The company also invests 50% of its profits into initiatives that advance health equity. This episode is your reminder to pay attention to what your body may be missing and to support businesses committed to serving our communities. Get Fearless With Money

What would change if fear no longer had a vote in your money decisions? A conversation with my friend got me thinking about all the ways fear can interfere with our income. We undercharge because we're afraid the client will say no. We hesitate to send the invoice because we're worried they can't afford it. We make ourselves available at all hours because we fear being replaced. In this episode, I'm reaching into the Sisternomics archives for some timeless lessons about money, value and worth. I share how my own money stories contributed to years of under-earning and how goals, boundaries and systems can keep fear from running your business. Fearless money doesn't mean you never feel nervous or uncomfortable. It means those feelings don't get to make the final decision.
