1. GIL HODGES died before the 1972 season . Mets should’ve picked their farm director , Whitey Herzog , to manage . 2. I was at the 1969 double header when Gil Hodges pulled CLEON out . Mets playing Astros . Lost first game 16-3 & were losing second when CLEON ran slowly after a hit down the line . Gil walked passed relief pitcher NOLAN RYAN passed SS Bud HARRELSON and onto the outfield grass . He called CLEON in and benched him for the next 5 games . CLEON was leading the league in hitting at that point (.344) .

Great podcast but I wish the ads wouldn’t cut in the middle of sentences, makes the pod hard to follow sometimes.

Greet listen every time , all the time. the ads are a new adjustment but ya gotta pay the bills. It’s a smooth transient back into the abject matter.very clear.

Just a podcast with knowledgeable people talking about the New York Mets. None of this Andy Martino doom and gloom/Adam Rubin “OH NO” nonsense. My favorite Mets podcast after YEARS of searching for something good.
