    Real talk... The Reality of Women

    In this episode we keep it real as we take this conversation within the context of it being National Women's Month and the value that holds within our lived experiences. It is an open conversation on the lived experiences of many women both nationally & internationally diving into topics such as rape, feminicidio and much more. It is an important conversation to have to address the realities of such pressures society puts upon women and ways society can continue to move forward to support and create a safer space for all women.

    Real Talk... Senior Year

    Online school has affected all of us in different ways and it is important to acknowledge the struggles and the journey. This episode follows us from the end of our first semester online to the start of our last semester of high school. We take a look back at the changes we experienced, getting used to a new routine, dealing with and acknowledging our own thoughts, and everything coming full circle as seniors. We are still not experts at navigating online school, but one thing is for sure this experience shaped us in one way or another.

    Real Talk… City Council Candidate

    In this episode we are joined by Santa Clarita City Council candidate Selina Thomas to discuss her campaign and her perspective. Through this conversation we are able to get to know Selina Thomas, we are able to hear her journey from being a business owner trying to help as many people as possible in light of the pandemic to now running for city council. We are fortunate enough to be able to speak as teens to a candidate to address a wide range of topics that affect our community and to truly empower young voters. In this interview we highlight the importance of civic engagement in local politics especially as generation Z.

    Real Talk... Race

    There are taboo subjects that we are not able to really discuss because it is not the norm, but time for silence is over we need to understand the impacts of race and the double standards that exist so prevalently in our society. In this discussion we discuss how race in our society has become used in a way to make distinctions and seperations between us from discrimination, harrasment, representation in media, and healthcare. The melanin in our skin should not be the determining factor for how someone perceives an individual to be or to use stereotypes to categorize individuals by placing them in boxes and under labels. There are struggles suffered unfortunately due to skin tone when we should be uplifting one another and working towards positive progress and real change to address the inequility

    Real Talk... DACA

    DACA is a program that changed the lives of millions of members of the undocumented community across the U.S. who arrived to the U.S. as children which is why in this episode we discuss what DACA is and what it means especially after the historic supreme court ruling this month that upheld the program allowing it to continue. We discuss important information for those who are able to apply and continue a conversation in which we talk about the various obstacles the undocumented community faces all while continuing to persevere against constant put downs. There are misconceptions and quick judgements that are made towards DACA recipients and the undocumented community it is important to remember that words have an immense power as do actions so let us uplift one another and see eye to eye as human beings. Also its important to note that today a federal court in maryland is ordering new DACA applications to be taken in so people should be on the lookout and be prepared so they should start gathering all the documents and extra proof they may have!

    Real Talk... Black Lives Matter

    As we continue to fight for true justice and change in the US against the continous cycle of systematic racist oppression of the black community as teens we can make a change. In this episode we talk directly about the movement for change in which we can all help because it is no longer the time to stay silent. The time has come for us to unite because police brutality and systematic racism is not a bipartisan issue it is a Human Rights issue. We stand in solidarity with the black community and we commemorate those that have been doing anything to support by going to protests, donating, or that have signed petitions. Gen Z we can use our voices to fight for the justice of the black community, educate yourself and continue signing petitions but do not stop.

    Real Talk... Identity and Growth

    In this episode we discuss personal identity and growth with a very special guest, Vivian Tan an inspiring student from BC Canada who has established an organization to help students succeed and navigate a post secondary education  through resources and opportunities. Being students we come face to face with quite the challenges every step of the way and in doing so we are faced with the labels that people perceive us as that may build us up, but sometimes affect us negatively in the search of who we want to be and how we see ourselves. It is not easy to figure out who we are because often we let a single word or idea describe us rather than investing time on ourselves. Figuring out what’s the best choice for our future and putting ourselves first is not something easy to do but remember to take time to get to know yourself and build goals for the next stages of our lives.
