    This week, we promote awareness of “Shoe The World Day – March 15” by visiting a long-forgotten genre that emerged in the late 80s – early 90s. A genre that exploited obscured vocals, guitar distortion, effects, feedback, and overwhelming volume: SHOEGAZE. In part 1, we focused mostly on bands from the UK, but in part 2, we are exploring bands from other parts of the world. These bands use the artistry of guitar innovation to paint some wonderfully layered sonic canvases! If you have a preconceived notion that you don’t like this stuff, we ask that you give this episode a shot, as you might be surprised how much it rocks… What is it we do here at InObscuria? Every show, Kevin opens the crypt to exhume and dissect from his personal collection: an artist, album, or grouping of tunes from the broad spectrum of rock, punk, and metal. If you were into this music when it came out back in the early 90s, chances are that you haven’t revisited it in a while. This episode starts at the peak of their provocative power metal prowess and ends with their evolution to a hard-rocking power glam powerhouse. They did well in Europe and other parts of the world, but we think they Shoulda Been Huge in the States! This episode is rooted in our Should Have Been category. A German band that followed in the footsteps of Helloween, flying the flag of “Power Metal” from the late 90s to 2014.
