The Other Side of Chaos - Talking Dyslɘxiɑ, ADHD, and Neurodiversity for Real

Most dyslexic professionals grow up believing they’re behind. Coach Willie Blake knows that story from the inside. Diagnosed in first grade, he spent years trying to hide, trying to catch up, and trying to be someone he wasn’t. Eventually, he made a different choice — if he was going to live with dyslexia, he was going to lead with it. Today, Willie is the go‑to high‑performance coach for dyslexic entrepreneurs, creators, and career professionals who are ready to trade self‑doubt for confidence and overthinking for clarity. Through simple, practical frameworks like the 2% Rule and the GPS Goal Method, he helps people take real action even when they’ve felt “behind” their whole life. In this conversation, Willie brings the same mix of heart, humor, and lived experience that’s made him a dynamic speaker on 500+ stages and the host of Light Beyond Limits. We talk about identity, momentum, and what actually helps dyslexic minds move forward. If you’ve ever felt different, stuck, or underestimated — this one will hit home. Rebrand Coming January 27th at Midnight

________________________________________ Here is a transcript of what's in this episode. Bob talks first , the following will be read by a voiceover. This is an important message for all OTR listeners, and I want to make sure I reach everybody. This is also in the description, but it’s presented verbally next. This will bring everyone up to date on the exciting rebrand starting January 27th at midnight. So, what’s happening OTR – Achieving Mental Health for Real is heading into a major rebrand on January 27th, where we’re calling the brand OTR Universe — the structure this project was always meant to have. First the new logo, which you may have seen on the social sites. Plus, OTR Universe will be anchored from a brand-new home website, which becomes the listener portal. The entire site gets a full rebuild in the rebrand, including new and updated menu names and functionality, but will still have the links to the popular podcast player as before. The following describes the functionality accessible from the new home main web page: OTR Public Square — the new front door This is where people show up, speak freely, and participate. This is a repurpose of the Ki-Fo dot com site currently called Real Plus. The site is design to be for a sponsor site and has places to donate all over the site, I took out all that I could, but to cut corners I needed a ready built site to establish a community posting and message board which will be renamed to Public Square in OTR Universe and accessible from the main home site I have several objectives with OTR Universe. Mostly to reach listeners to come share your stories and meet others that will validate them, and that’s what it’s all about. Be a part of OTR Universe and achieve mental health for real, To thank you for trying to connect, we will give you free Real Premium for at least a full year to try the benefits and decide if you want to renew for another year for six cents a day. You can activate now by sending an anonymous post addressed to staff or Public Square. Write that you want it for free and you will actually not start the year until all benefits are rolled in one at a time. You will receive each benefit as soon as there rolled out, full details ahead. I just ask you to consider it, so we can form a small healing community. This is my dream but only your courage and support can make it come true. There will be two ways to post to Public Square 1, Anonymous Posting Zero tracing information. You post. We receive only the post. You can choose to send it to staff only, or you can have it appear on the Public Square post page. This process is not posted live since it’s not tied to the Public Square directly. So, no logon or email needed. It will be transferred to the Public Square post page throughout the day automatically. It’s the only way to do totally anonymous posting. 2. Named Live Posting Live interaction with other Public Square users and staff. More features. More connection. Requires free sign up to Ki Fo.com with logon id name and password and any email address. The logon id does not have to be an email address. No obligation. No subscription. You can use a temporary email address and delete that email address after you sign-up — you remain virtually anonymous. It is a little more work, but it gets posted immediately. This process is available today from the home website, the above only details how it will be for the rebrand. Personal Note I know the community thing is currently not popular and I understand. I felt embarrassed and shame before I first came out with my full name. All I’m saying is you may be carrying this shame weight around too long, it’s really time you shared 101 percent anonymously. You have my word. The podcast app you listen to now takes more info from you. Because anonymous posting takes zero. Let it out,...

Turning Feminine Pain Into Personal Wisdom — A Conversation That Reaches Men Too

In this episode, we sit down with Kerry — mother, shaman, and newly published author of My Inner Heroine: Exploring Feminine Pain — to explore a life shaped by trauma, awakening, and radical self‑belief. As you can hear in the episode, her wisdom can apply in general to men. Kerry grew up in a single‑mother household in Southern California, navigating isolation, social struggle, and the early pressure to grow up fast. Her path carried her from Hot Dog on a Stick at 14, to studying Chinese and Religious Studies, to a marriage sparked in Tibet, to motherhood, divorce, and a corporate career in compliance. But the turning point came in 2015, when her mother died on Kerry’s 45th birthday — a moment that cracked her life open and forced her to confront the psychic gifts and childhood wounds she had long avoided. What followed was a decade of upheaval and transformation. Kerry speaks candidly about the darkest moments, including a suicide attempt, and the unexpected teachers who helped her rebuild: shamans, psychologists, physicists, yogis, and the men who mirrored her deepest wounds back to her. From a chess champion to decorated fire academy instructors to a former FBI assistant special agent in charge, each relationship became a catalyst for self‑understanding and spiritual expansion. Kerry also shares the profound synchronicities that led her to accept a past‑life identity as Mary Magdalene — a belief that reshaped her understanding of feminine pain, spiritual lineage, and her purpose in this lifetime. This conversation is raw, unfiltered, and deeply human. Kerry brings a rare willingness to go into the places most people avoid — trauma, identity, mysticism, sexuality, and the messy, nonlinear path of healing. Her story is an invitation to anyone carrying emotional wounds to transform them into wisdom, power, and self‑trust. Creating Spaces with Natalie Bedard (ADHD, PTSD,OCD). We open with Natalie Bedard (NatNat), an Energy Healing Specialist who helps people regulate the nervous system and transform anxiety into empowerment through her brand LiftOneSelf. She’s been featured on multiple podcasts, always reminding us that self‑care is personal and that understanding our own biology is essential. This episode is special because NatNat turns her insight toward me. I open up about the negative voices in my head — the ones many listeners know too well. It gets emotional, and she meets it with compassion, clarity, and spiritual guidance. She offers practical ways to quiet those inner demons, plus a short meditation to help ground the moment. You might want a box of Kleenex. I certainly did. I don’t pretend to have it all together — I’m traveling toward home just like you. Sleep Lists for the Sleepless Next is Helen Sernett, host of the podcast Sleep Lists and a dedicated sleep and wellness enthusiast. Her show uses simple, soothing lists — numerical, chronological, or alphabetical — all designed to help listeners drift off before the episode ends. And if you’re still awake, she offers gentle suggestions to help you settle into sleep. With six episodes per season, quarterly releases, and special holiday editions, there’s always something calming to queue up. We talk about alternative sleep routines for people without traditional schedules — remote workers, flex‑schedule professionals, college students, and retirees — and how daytime napping can support better rest. Good sleep is essential to mental health, and Helen’s podcast may be exactly the natural support you need. Advocacy for Inclusion - Neurodivergent Acceptance into Society Next we talk to Khushboo Chabria, a neurodiversity specialist, career coach, and mental health advocate reshaping how workplaces and schools include neurodivergent people. We talk about why ADHD, Autism, and other forms of neurodiversity are not disorders, and why every brain deserves the right accommodation. Khushboo is the coauthor of Neurodiversity for Dummies (including the full ADHD chapter) and leads transformative work through Neurodiversity Pathways at Goodwill of Silicon Valley. Drawing on her therapeutic background, leadership experience, and her own ADHD journey, she brings a powerful, authentic perspective to this conversation. Goodbye Anxiety, Depression, Addiction & PTSD: The Life-Changing Science of Dual-Brain Psychology. Dr. Fredric Schiffer joins me to discuss his groundbreaking new book, Goodbye Anxiety, Depression, Addiction & PTSD: The Life‑Changing Science of Dual‑Brain Psychology. A best‑selling author, psychiatrist, public speaker, and part‑time assistant professor at Harvard, Dr. Schiffer has spent decades studying how early trauma, brain laterality, and emotional patterns shape our mental well‑being. His work explores how the two hemispheres of the brain can function like two competing minds — and how treating the more troubled side can reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, PTSD, and addiction. As founder of the Dual‑Brain Psychology Institute, Dr. Schiffer has developed innovative techniques to help people access and heal the wounded part of the mind, including a surprisingly simple method involving something as ordinary as a piece of junk mail. His new book lays out these discoveries and the science...

Overcoming Binge Eating - Rewiring the Brain

Amber Abila helps women stop binge eating and overeating by rewiring their brains so they can finally feel normal and in control around any food. Over 3% of the US population struggles with binge eating and so many more do so in silence. For years, Amber struggled with her own relationship with food, trying everything from therapy and calorie counting to weight loss coaching. Nothing seemed to work until she discovered, through coaching and psychology, that there was nothing “wrong” with her at all — she simply needed practical brain tools to break free from the cycle. By learning how her unconscious brain was driving habitual eating patterns, Amber began making dramatic shifts in her habits and her life. Now she shares those same evidence‑based tools with others, showing women that freedom from food obsession is possible and that lasting change doesn’t come from more discipline or stricter diets, but from understanding and retraining the brain. In this episode, Amber opens up about her journey, the science behind binge eating, and the strategies that helped her reclaim peace with food. Her mission is clear: to ensure no one feels as alone or broken as she once did, and to empower women everywhere to step into confidence, resilience, and joy in their everyday lives.
