    24 Fear the Lord

Music from Dayspring Community, was a Christian community during the Jesus Movement Of the 1970s, from the 2 albums they produced in the early 1970s: “Dayspring… a group of young people and families, from the who had committed themselves to one another, to live the life of the Lord Jesus Christ in the world, believing that, God has called his people to be light and darkness, to give witness to his life by their love for one another, and to be vessels of His love offered to the world. The songs on this recording, and the ability to sing them a gift from God, having been given according to His promise; “ask and it shall be given to you.” These gifts are given to the Body believing His promise; “give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over “. Dr. David Hatcher, a professor of Civil Engineering at Washington University Saint Louis, MO, along with his wife Ruth, was the pastor of this community of young believers in the 1970's. Dayspring was the fruit of the Jesus People Revival that swept through the US during the turbulent late 1960s and early 1970s. The uniqueness of Dayspring featured a return to the simplicity of devotion to Jesus expressed through living in community (it was not a commune) using the model of the New Testament Church as a framework or scaffolding for the expression of Christianity lived out in an organic fashion. A surprising number of the members of the community are in full-time ministry till this very day. There is fruit that remains. Dayspring was formed around the person of the Lord Jesus and not around any particular personality nor doctrine. The community had 2 singing groups, Dayspring and Siloam
