Episode 5: Cryptic and Coded (Part 2)

In the second part of my discussion on cryptology, I pick you back up from the cliffhanger that I left you on last time and tell you a story about WWII. Cryptography and cryptanalysis' role in our world is both intriguing and relevant, as you'll find out from my explanations of historic and modern cryptic tales!

Episode 4: Cryptic and Coded (Part 1)

Today we're going to look into the kind of math that's fit for a secret agent. It's called "cryptology!" I'll tell you about the basics of its two branches: cryptography and cryptanalysis; as well as some fascinating stories from the field. This puzzle-type area of mathematics (and computer science) is one of the most relevant to our modern way-of-life, and it's been that way for centuries!

Episode 3: The Mathematical Magic of Music

Apologies for how late this episode is! I kept finding more and more that I wanted to talk to you all about. In this third episode of the show, we're going to look into- yep, you guessed it- the connections that have been (and are continuing to be) made between mathematics and music. We discuss the role that the Euclidean Algorithm has played in western music and different ways that we can visualize melodic structures found throughout such an important piece of society/culture.
