Episode 3: D'orjay The Singing Shaman

Wow! After a week off (due to some problems to our hosting service) We're back with Episode 3 of the TomWeekly Podcast! This week, I'm joined with the incredible D'orjay. By far one of the coolest people I have ever interviewed!  More about D'orjay:  "D’orjay the Singing Shaman was a late bloomer stepping on to the stage. Helping her clients and students heal to their most authentic selves and navigating years of her own personal limiting beliefs and experiences meant that she was 35 years old when she finally grabbed the microphone in a professional capacity. D’orjay’s most authentic self expression and healing comes from writing songs and sharing those stories with vulnerability and emotion to the audience. Her style of country music continues to evolve honouring the classic country music she grew up on living in Rural Alberta while also colouring outside the lines of what current mainstream country music has to offer. As a Black Queer woman, D'orjay is passionate, vocal and committed to bringing diversity and inclusiveness to country music." Episode 2: Robert Adam

This week, I'm joined by Alberta's own rhinestone cowboy, Robert Adam!  Rob & I have only been friends for about a year, but we've certainly helped each other get through some sh*t.  Join us as we discuss queer country music, Jesus, BodyBreak and Alberta's mom, Country Queen Arlene!  "Originally from the northern Alberta prairie town of Bonnyville, Robert combines a rural spirit of classic country with lyrics that offer more than surface meaning. Robert is sure to make his audience nostalgic for a place they may never have known, and warm hearts with his small town charm. In 2016 Robert recorded his debut EP "Prairie Gold" in Toronto Ontario, which beckoned of his small town sentimentalism and longing to return to his roots.  "Rocky Mountain Lot" featured on his EP, made it to the top 10 in the country category in the Canadian Songwriting Competition in 2017. In the same year Robert moved back into the west and settled in Calgary, Alberta where he has quickly earned a reputation as a electric entertainer and carefully crafted artist alike. You can expect sweet and salty vocals, curated lyrics, dreamy musical textures and of course a sprinkle of rhinestones. With a clear respect for the older tradition of country music, seamlessly integrated with modern and progressive themes Rob is sure to attract attention from seasoned country music listeners and those not normally well acquainted with the genre alike."  Find Robert Adam everywhere you get your music and all social media at @robertadammusic!
