10.4.2026 "Partakers of Grace" (Philippians 1:1-11)

In this sermon from Philippians 1:1–11, we begin our study of Paul’s letter to the Philippians with a powerful reminder of what it means to be “Partakers of Grace.” Writing from prison, Paul expresses deep gratitude and joy for the Philippian believers because of their participation and partnership in the gospel. Their circumstances were difficult, but their joy was rooted not in comfort or circumstances, but in God and in what He was doing among them.As partakers of God’s grace, we are not called to passively coast through the Christian life. God begins the work, sustains the work, and faithfully brings His work to completion, while we actively yield ourselves to Christ and participate in what He is doing. Being bound to Christ means freedom from being bound to fear and sin, and it gives us grace and peace even in the midst of hardship.Paul’s prayer for the Philippians also challenges us to consider what we are praying for. He prays that their love would abound in real knowledge and discernment, that they would approve the things that are excellent, and that they would be filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ. As partakers of grace, we are called to a Christ-shaped love, to pursue what is excellent, and to live faithfully as we look toward the day of Christ. This message ultimately points us toward confidence in God’s faithfulness. When we are weary, God is not finished. When we falter, He is still working. And just as Paul trusted God to complete the work He began in the Philippians, we can trust Him to continue His work in us and in those around us.The PLCC is a non-denominational Bible-based congregation of believers whose members are committed to honoring God through our Lord Jesus Christ in the power of His Holy Spirit. It is our joy & aim to take part in becoming & building the Christ-centered Kingdom Community that our Heavenly Father desires for us to be.🙏 Join Us for Worship✨ You are invited to join us Sundays at 10 AM for live stream and in-person services. 9.20.2026 Commendations & Revelations of Grace (Romans 16)

In Romans 16, Paul brings his letter to a close—not simply with theological concepts, but with the names and stories of real people whose lives demonstrate what the gospel produces. Through his commendations, warnings, and final declaration of praise, we see God’s grace taking shape in an ordinary congregation.“Commendations & Revelations of Grace” explores how grace transforms strangers into family, honors faithful service even when it goes unnoticed, protects the church from teaching that leads people away from Christ, and gives hope because the God of peace will ultimately crush Satan under our feet. Romans 16 reminds us that the church is not merely a weekly event we attend, but a body of believers who belong to one another—called to receive, serve, encourage, protect, and remember one another. As Paul concludes Romans, the gospel leads him to worship. God is able to establish His people through the gospel of Jesus Christ, and the grace that justifies us also forms us into a loving, caring, courageous family. We are reminded that hidden faithfulness matters, our labor in the Lord is not in vain, and our confidence rests in God's ability to establish and preserve His people.May this message encourage us to receive one another as family, honor faithful service, remain rooted in the gospel, grow wise in what is good, live from the victory of Christ rather than fear, and give God the glory in our relationships, service, and mission.🙏 Join Us for Worship✨ You are invited to join us Sundays at 10 AM for live stream and in-person services. 9.13.2026 "Where Is Your Boldness" (Romans 15:14-33)

Where is your boldness? In this sermon from Romans 15, we are challenged to consider what gives us confidence, what we glory in, and where we place our trust. Paul points the church away from boasting in our own knowledge, virtue, abilities, or accomplishments and toward boasting in what Christ has accomplished through us.As Paul describes his ministry to the Gentiles, we see the Holy Spirit at work through the proclamation of the gospel, producing obedience and bringing people into fellowship with Christ and with one another. The church flourishes when our boldness is in Christ and what He has done, rather than in ourselves. This message also calls us to consider what Christian fellowship should look like: laying down stumbling blocks and personal liberties for one another, enjoying one another's company, helping and refreshing one another, and glorifying God together. As we glory in Christ and what He is doing, we can become a community that reflects Him and invites others to experience the fellowship and grace He offers.🙏 Join Us for Worship✨ You are invited to join us Sundays at 10 AM for live stream and in-person services. 9.6.2026 "So That You Will Abound in Hope" (Romans 15:1-13)

In Romans 15:1–13, Paul continues his call for believers to live together under the lordship of Christ, even when they have different backgrounds, convictions, and levels of spiritual maturity. Rather than using our freedom or strength to please ourselves, we are called to bear with one another, build one another up, and pursue what strengthens our brothers and sisters in faith. In this sermon, we are reminded that Christian strength is not meant for self-sufficiency or personal comfort. Those who are strong are called to come alongside those who are weak, helping carry their burdens rather than standing at a distance and offering criticism. Christ Himself is our example: He did not come to please Himself, but willingly served, bore reproach, and welcomed us through His grace.Paul also points us to the encouragement and perseverance found in Scripture. As we continue with God, hear His Word, and encourage one another, our hope grows. Unity is not simply about agreeing on every preference or practice. It is about being united in Christ so that, with one voice, we glorify God.The sermon culminates in Paul's prayer: "Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." This is more than optimism or a hope that depends on circumstances. It is confidence in God's promises—a hope that can sustain us through difficulty and overflow into the lives of others. As we consider our own relationships within the body of Christ, we are challenged to ask: Are people more encouraged after spending time with us? Are we using the strength God has given us to help carry others? Who might God be calling us to accept, encourage, strengthen, or speak hope to?May the God of hope fill you with joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.🙏 Join Us for Worship✨ You are invited to join us Sundays at 10 AM for live stream and in-person services. 8.30.2026 "Pursue the Things Which Make for Peace" (Romans 14)

In Romans 14, Paul brings the deep truths of the gospel into the everyday realities of Christian community. What does it look like to follow Jesus when believers sincerely disagree about matters of conscience, preferences, traditions, and Christian liberty? This sermon challenges us to move beyond simply trying to be right and instead ask a more important question: Are the things we say and do helping us pursue peace and build one another up?Because we belong to Christ, we are called to welcome and accept one another rather than judge or hold one another in contempt. Our convictions matter, but our Christian liberty is not meant to serve ourselves. Love may call us to willingly limit our freedom for the good of another believer.Romans 14 reminds us that Jesus is Lord of every believer. We are not the master of another person's conscience, and we don't have to make everyone else a carbon copy of ourselves. Instead, we can walk in humility, extend grace, and trust the Lord to shepherd His people. The kingdom of God is bigger than our preferences. It is righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. As followers of Christ, we are called to actively pursue the things that make for peace and the building up of one another.* Welcome and accept one another because God has welcomed us* Don't turn personal preferences into tests of spirituality* Practice discernment without becoming judgmental* Let love be more important than personal liberty* Pursue peace and the building up of one another* Remember that Christ—not our preferences—is the foundation of our unity* Live in the righteousness, peace, and joy of the Holy SpiritMay this message encourage us to ask not only, "What am I free to do?" but also, "Will this help my brother or sister walk with Christ? Will this build up the body? Does this pursue peace?"🙏 Join Us for Worship✨ You are invited to join us Sundays at 10 AM for live stream and in-person services. 8.23.2026 Baptism Sunday at the PLCC

What does baptism mean, and why do we do it?On this special Baptism Sunday, we take a closer look at the biblical meaning and purpose of baptism. The sermon begins with an important truth: God is the great initiator, and our lives are a response to His initiative. Baptism is one of the ways believers respond to God through faith, obedience, and identification with Jesus Christ.Rather than getting caught up in traditions, formulas, or debates about baptism, we are encouraged to listen carefully to Scripture and ask, “What does the Word of God say, and how should we respond?”The message explores the biblical picture of cleansing and the connection between the Old Testament “gathering of the waters” and the hope we have in God. In the New Testament, baptism is presented as an outward and symbolic expression of an inner faith—a confession of our trust in Jesus Christ and our identification with Him.Through Romans 6, we see the powerful picture of being buried with Christ through baptism and raised to walk in newness of life. As Christ gave His life for us, we respond by giving our lives to Him—dying to ourselves and declaring, “I’m His. Lord, I’m Yours.”The sermon also highlights three reasons we are baptized:* Jesus set the example for us.* Jesus commanded His disciples to baptize.* Baptism points us toward the presence and empowering work of the Holy Spirit.Baptism is also deeply connected to community. Through one Spirit, believers are brought together as one body, publicly identifying with Christ and becoming part of the family and community of believers. On Baptism Sunday, we celebrate those who are taking this step of faith and obedience and declaring their identity in Christ.May this message encourage us all to respond to God's initiative with faith, surrender, obedience, and a life centered on Jesus Christ.🙏 Join Us for Worship✨ You are invited to join us Sundays at 10 AM for live stream and in-person services. 8.16.2026 Defending Self's City (Mark 6:14-28)

In this message from Mark 6:14-28, Frank examines the account of John the Baptist, Herod, and Herodias and challenges us to consider what happens when our “self” is exposed. Rather than responding with pride, defensiveness, or resistance, we are called to repent, humble ourselves, and allow the Lord to transform us into the likeness of Christ.Frank describes the tendency to build and defend a “city of self” whenever we feel corrected, exposed, or challenged. But the way of Jesus is different. Instead of protecting our reputation and defending ourselves, we are invited to side with the Lord against our own self-centered nature and allow His kingdom to be built within us.Through the example of John the Baptist and the humility of Christ, this message calls us to embrace a “deescalating humility that gives life” rather than an escalating pride that can destroy relationships and harden our hearts. The message ultimately asks each of us a searching question: When self is exposed, will we rise up and defend ourselves, or will we repent and allow God to have His way in us? As Frank emphasizes, when we humble ourselves and receive correction, the Holy Spirit can continue His work of Christlike transformation in our lives.* Self-defense rises up when self is exposed* Pride can rally others against the work of God* We are called to side with the Lord against ourselves* Christlike maturity involves separation from self* We must learn to humbly hear the voice of the Lord, even when correction comes through unexpected people* True freedom comes as we surrender the self-life and allow Christ to increase in us* God desires to form Christ in His people for His gloryMay this message encourage us to lay down our defenses, receive the truth with humility, and continually yield ourselves to the transforming work of the Holy Spirit. Our prayer is that Christ would increase in us, that His nature would be seen in us, and that our lives would help build the Christ-centered Kingdom Community our Heavenly Father desires.🙏 Join Us for Worship✨ You are invited to join us Sundays at 10 AM for live stream and in-person services. 8.9.2026 Intimacy in Prayer

What does it mean to truly have an intimate relationship with God?In this message, Kevin continues his personal journey of wrestling with prayer and discovering that prayer is not simply about telling God what we want or waiting for Him to give us the answers we expect. Instead, intimacy with God requires us to slow down, spend time in His presence, listen, and learn to recognize His voice.Kevin explores the many ways God speaks to us—through Scripture, creation, worship, other people, and the quiet work of the Holy Spirit within us. He challenges us to consider whether the noise and distractions of life have made it difficult for us to hear what God may already be saying. At the heart of the message is a call to deeper surrender. Rather than trying to balance our spiritual lives with everything else, we are encouraged to make our relationship with God the foundation from which everything else flows. God is always present and desires intimacy with us, but we must intentionally choose to make time to be with Him, listen to Him, and trust Him.The message concludes with a simple but meaningful challenge: spend quiet time alone with God—not striving for an answer, not filling the silence with words, but simply resting in His presence and learning to listen.* Prayer is more than asking God for answers—it is an invitation into relationship.* God speaks through Scripture, creation, worship, people, and the Holy Spirit.* Developing intimacy with God requires intentional time, stillness, and listening.* We must learn to discern God's voice and test what we hear against Scripture.* God does not abandon us; His presence and Spirit are continually with us.* True surrender means allowing our relationship with God to shape every part of our lives.* Sometimes the most meaningful prayer is simply being still and present with God.🙏 Join Us for Worship✨ You are invited to join us Sundays at 10 AM for live stream and in-person services.
