    Girl, Sit Down!!!

In this episode, the Baes discuss how it is sometimes hard for us to just let go and accept support during the postpartum period. We look at Michele Wallace's Black Macho and the Myth of the Superwoman (1979) and examine how this myth of the Strong Black Mama is the antithesis of what is needed for optimal postpartum healing. We also sip tea and react to the T.I. controversy, discuss the hymenal myth, and reflect on ways to raise whole, Black children.
