Work Hard & Live Your Life | The Fit Fun Podcast #109

Be social and do it often. Together, we are strong. We might think that spending time with friends is easy, but in Western culture, which prefers work over relationships, having a good time is actually becoming more complicated. Many use the work crutch as a supporting pillar to hide behind their insecurity, loneliness, and anxiety. It is easy to say that you have to work late, and sometimes, that is fully justified, as you have a big project to handle. That responsibility alone comes with your excellence and trying to do a good job. That is great! However… Humans are creatures of habit. Some are good; others can become bad. We can quickly fall into the trap of thinking we are doing our best and staying late, while in the meantime, we have substituted personal excellence for a rat-race mindset. Work hard, work long hours. You feel better about yourself. You do what you promised to yourself. Sounds about right… That is good on one side, as it fuels your habits, but it can also become a self-fulfilling prophecy as you cage yourself, especially if you focus only on always working. Science shows that burning the midnight oil might not be as productive. It's better to focus on how to maximize the time you have. Burning the night oil quickly can become an excuse not to be social. Remember, you have one life, and yes, you should strive to do your best. It happens to all of us who work long days. But do you want to spend all this time by yourself? Do not substitute living your life to the fullest for your work. Work is just one tiny piece, although we spend 80.000 in our work life there. Have fun and ask yourself why you do what you do. Question your motives, and you might find that you fuel your ego. Take risks, even when uncomfortable, meet new people, set stretch goals, and use your logic and heart! If you use your heart and emotions and not logic, try to balance it with logic. Ask others for a rational solution and vice versa. You got this: hang out with others and stay strong! :-) Useful Tools to Feel Better & Sales EQ Tips | The Fit Fun Podcast #104 by The Fit Fun PodcastIn every episode, I try to bring you new tools that might help you improve your odds of being healthier and better. 3 Key Metric to Win the Week | The Fit Fun Podcast #107

We live in a highly competitive world, and moving from one stage to another takes a lot of effort. As you start the week, borrow the strategies of other great people. Study how others achieve their goals, ask for help, and be humble and foolish enough to pursue your own. Compete with yourself. Personal Challenge + The Way of The Turtle (Having Long-term Perspective)= Great Life Quality Satisfaction & Outcomes We think about life to survive or to get by. That is the lowest level of living. When we finally decide to go all in… We are met with challenges… We do not like challenges, as life seems harsh already. We complain and rest on our laurels. That mindset gets us into trouble. Our minds can be deceiving. We need to let optimism be the guiding north star. Does a mindset shift happen from one day to another? No. But, with effort, you can nudge your mind to seek positivity and goodness. Get inspired daily. Feed our mindset with inspiration and motivation. 2. Set your goals and look at them daily. Having a needle-moving project can be the difference between focusing on the right things and not. 3. Build your habits. The projects will flow when you desire to work towards your chosen things daily. That requires a daily habit and consistency in your behavior. With these three pillars, you can turn your challenges into outcomes. Here are a few more reminders: Remember, things take time. Be patient. With enough time, effort, and optimization, you can get to where you want to go. Measure yourself weekly Be open to pivoting. Do not beat yourself up (it diminishes your self-esteem) And remember, when you knock on the door of opportunity, work is what answers. So, go and work, and make it fun. When it does not work, try a different approach. ;-)
