The Town That Dreaded Sundown (1976) Movie Review: The Phantom Killer Is Back | True Crime Horror & 70s Slasher Madness

Send us Fan Mail Our favorite time of the year is back HALLOWEEN BABY Today were talking about: A quiet town. A dark history. And one extremely committed maniac who apparently has nowhere else to be. The Town That Dreaded Sundown (1976) takes a series of real-life murders and turns them into a grim, eerie descent into small-town paranoia. The sun goes down. The Phantom appears. Everyone immediately starts having a terrible time. It's true crime before true crime became a podcast genre. It's horror before everyone decided the killer needed a complicated cinematic universe. And it's proof that sometimes the scariest thing about living in a small town is knowing everybody—and still not knowing who owns the mask. 🔪 Hit play on WHO WATCHES THIS PODCAST, follow, rate, and subscribe—and join us as we revisit one of the strangest true-crime horror movies of the 1970s. Just maybe don't take a walk after sundown. Animal World (2018) Movie Review: Michael Douglas, Killer Monsters & Extreme Gambling | Chinese Sci-Fi Chaos

Send us Fan Mail Fall is here... does that mean clowns are here as well!? Today were talking about: A man with crippling debt. A mysterious ship. A gambling tournament where losing means losing basically everything. Animal World (2018) asks the important question: What if your financial problems could only be solved by playing increasingly insane games against people who have absolutely nothing to lose? There are monsters. There are knives. There are elaborate gambling strategies. And somewhere in the middle of it all is Michael Douglas, because apparently international debt-related monster gambling is just another item on his résumé. It's about desperation, friendship, survival, and the horrifying realization that maybe the worst thing you can do with your life is owe the wrong people a truly unreasonable amount of money. 🎲 Hit play on WHO WATCHES THIS PODCAST, follow, rate, and subscribe—and join us as we find out whether Animal World is a hidden sci-fi gem or what happens when someone puts Saw, Ocean's Eleven, and a fever dream into a blender. Circus of the Dead (2014) Movie Review: Insane Grindhouse Horror

Send us Fan Mail Fall is here... does that mean clowns are here as well!? Today were talking about: A family road trip. A mysterious circus. Several clowns who have absolutely no interest in making balloon animals. Circus of the Dead (2014) asks the timeless question: What could possibly go wrong if we stop at a creepy circus in the middle of nowhere? The answer is: basically everything. There are clowns. There is murder. There is enough blood to make the concession stand reconsider selling red slushies. What begins as a normal family outing quickly becomes a carnival of terrible decisions, questionable parenting, and people discovering that “Let's stop and check it out” is rarely the correct response to a suspicious circus. It's grotesque. It's chaotic. It's deeply unpleasant. Basically, it's a family movie—if your family has collectively decided that therapy is too expensive. 🎪 Hit play on WHO WATCHES THIS PODCAST, follow, rate, and subscribe—and come find out whether Circus of the Dead is a hidden horror gem or proof that some roadside attractions should simply be ignored.
