Locked On Royals - Daily Podcast On The Kansas City Royals

I love this podcast and the royals. I especially like Jack and the problems he addresses, the could-be changes to the team that he goes through, and I think I’ve learned more about the royals listening to this podcast than watching the actual games themselves! But on the other hand, Chance, the post cast host, is too critical on this team, even at their best. I can’t celebrate a good win when listening to the post cast. I get that the royals have disappointed this 2026 season, but that doesn’t mean you have to attack the players that had an off day. Overall, I like this podcast, but please find a better post cast host. Anyone else would do. GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jack is not positive about the royals at all and coming from someone who watches every game, he seemed to not have even watched it. He is really bad at lifting up a fan base that is already not happy with the season.

I’m wondering, when do think Salvador Perez will retire. And if Bobby Witt Jr were to be traded where to and for how much and why? By the way my name is Jacob.

Pros and cons with this one. I’ll start with the good. Jack is a good host. He’s knowledgeable and clearly loves this team. Having a regular source of Royals talk is good, and he’s good with being up front if the schedule is going to change. Unfortunately, those positives are washed out by the negatives. Jack seems hesitant, scared, or unwilling to call out the coaching staff, front office, or ownership. I can chalk this up to his position as a reporter but it’s a bit tiring. The worst aspect of the podcast, however, is the post cast. Chance is not a good host at all and comes off very immature to the point where I’ve had to stop listening. Two instances come to mind. First, a while back he got very mad at those on the live chat who were blaming Q for the team’s struggles and borderline attacked them for not blaming the players as there was nothing Q could do. Then, once the team started to rebound, on social media he praised how great Q was for turning the team around. Can’t have it both ways. And second, last night I tune into the live stream (that had 3 listeners including myself) to see that someone from the official account (presumably Chance) called people idiots in the chat for wanting to see Triple A players get a shot. Unprofessional. If you want to listen, stick to the portions hosted by Jack and skip the post casts. It’s what I’ve started to do.
