    We are Called To Be Saints

    Send us Fan Mail You don’t have to be extraordinary to be holy, you just have to be willing. We keep coming back to a single, bracing truth: every baptized Christian is called to be a saint. Not as a lofty ideal for a few names in stained glass, but as your real identity and your real mission, starting where you are right now in home life, work stress, relationships, and weakness. We walk through what the Catholic Church actually means by “holiness” and why it’s practical. Scripture is direct: “For this is the will of God, your sanctification” (1 Thessalonians 4:3) and “called to be saints” (Romans 1:7). We connect those passages to the Catechism (CCC 2013) and Lumen Gentium, which insist this call belongs to every state of life.     Send us Fan Mail Eight names from the 1640s can feel like a footnote until you realize they’re answering the question most of us avoid: what does staying faithful to Jesus look like when you’re tired, afraid, or unsure you can keep going? We walk through the lives of the North American Martyrs, six Jesuit priests and two lay companions who served Indigenous communities in New France during disease, warfare, and immense upheaval. Their witness isn’t presented as a simplistic story of one people against another; it’s a sober look at mission, suffering, and the kind of courage that starts with a daily decision to trust God. We start with the big picture and then move saint by saint: Isaac Jogues, who survived captivity and still chose to return in hope of peace; René Goupil, a surgeon whose health changed his plans but not his desire to serve; and Jean de Lalande, whose martyrdom reminds us holiness isn’t reserved for clergy.     The Great Promise Of Nine First Fridays

We’re talking about the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque, and the Great Promise tied to receiving Holy Communion on nine consecutive First Fridays.
