Welcome to the Bismarck Community Church sermon podcast! Through these weekly sermons, we hope you will recognize our love for the gospel of Jesus Christ, our desire to go deeper in relationship with our community, and our intention to live our lives out in mission.We are so glad you are here to listen to these sermons, but we would love for you to join us in person.     Enemy of God? (Jim Ellis) | One Three Nine (August 2, 2026)

    Concluding our summer series "One Three Nine," Pastor Jim Ellis tackles the final, challenging section of Psalm 139:19–24. While this Psalm is easy to love in its earlier verses, it takes a difficult turn as David uses strong language regarding his enemies and expressions of hate. Jim unpacks how these verses are descriptive of David's raw human emotions, rather than prescriptive for how we should live. Ultimately, David’s example teaches us to bring our most intense feelings honestly before God, exposing our hearts so we can release them to Him.     Known and Loved (Maury Millican) | One Three Nine (July 26, 2026)

    Continuing our summer series "One Three Nine," former BCC pastor Maury Millican returns to the pulpit to unpack the beautiful truth found in Psalm 139:17–18. While we cannot fully comprehend the vastness of all of God's thoughts, Maury reminds us that through the Holy Spirit, we can know the most important one: God loves you unconditionally, completely detached from your performance.     The Process of Wonder: Knit by God (Hannah Venable) | One Three Nine (July 12, 2026)

    Continuing our summer series "One Three Nine," guest speaker Hannah Venable dives into Psalm 139:13–14 to unpack the deep intentionality behind how God created us. Hannah explores the Hebrew imagery of being "knitted together," reminding us that our design wasn't an instant zap, but a careful process that gives every human being ultimate dignity, value, and worth.     Continuing our summer series "One Three Nine," guest speaker Dennis Sailer dives into Psalm 139:11–12 to explore how we navigate the difficult, dark seasons of life. Dennis reminds us of the profound truth that to God, the darkness shines as bright as the day. When we feel overwhelmed by difficult circumstances, God’s omnipresence breaks through to deliver us from the domain of darkness.     Even In Deep Waters (Mark Krenz) | One Three Nine (June 28, 2026)

    Continuing our summer series "One Three Nine," guest speaker Mark Krenz walks us through Psalm 139:9–10 to tackle a question we all face at some point: Is God truly present, or is He distant during our hardest moments? Looking at the imagery of "deep waters," Mark reminds us that God actively pursues an intimate, personal relationship with each of us. No matter how deep or difficult the season you are walking through right now, you cannot outrun His reach.     God Is With Us (Marcus Staley) | One Three Nine (June 21, 2026)

    Continuing our summer series "One Three Nine," guest speaker Marcus Staley dives into Psalm 139:6–8 to remind us of the powerful promise that God's Spirit is always with us. When life feels too overwhelming or great to understand, Marcus uses the illustration of pointillism art to show how we often get stuck zooming in on a single, difficult moment while God is painting a beautiful, larger masterpiece.     Hemmed In: The Kingdom in Our Midst (Randy Palmer) | One Three Nine (June 14, 2026)

    Continuing our summer series "One Three Nine," guest speaker Randy Palmer explores Psalm 139:4–5 and what it means to be securely "hemmed in" by God. Looking at Luke 17:21, Randy challenges us to see that God's kingdom isn't found in worldly institutions or power, but is actively dwelling within us and moving in our midst through the Holy Spirit.
