Expanding Universes: An Expanded Universe Podcast

This Star Wars Expanded Universe podcast is a poorly researched, barely comprehensible, fully chronological trek through the arcane, now-defunct EU lore.
Great Idea

Hope I am the first person to leave a review on here. Found this while randomly searching for other Star Wars podcasts and gravitated towards this one immediately. I love the idea of going through the original Expanded Universe canon and I am looking forward to you all commenting on the Jedi Academy Trilogy whenever you get around to it, since those were the first Star Wars books I ever read. Been researching on Star Wars for the past few months now for my own book idea and while you guys don’t claim to be professional, some of your comments have helped me change my thoughts on some aspects of Star Wars and made me appreciate the entire universe more than ever before. I especially like the Drunk History episodes. Hope this podcast grows over time and I hope to see you all cover the entirety of the Legends canon, however long that takes. Your podcast has of late inspired me to think about making my own podcast revolving around the multiple comic book canons of Batman. As of right now, my thoughts on the function of official canon and if it has any real benefits for fans in comparison to head canon or decommissioned canon has been an ongoing battle for me as I reconsider things I once took for granted and accepted as fact with no real qualms about how I actually liked a certain story or not. Podcasts like this one have made me a better and more tolerant consumer of media and more specifically a better Star Wars fan, and therefore a better person in general, since a lot of Star Wars fans are honestly terrible. I really enjoyed Rise of Skywalker and Solo in spite of their problems and I am glad to hear people on this pod say similar things. Makes me feel less alone and less threatened over all of the un-constructive meanness online. Your friend Izzy’s comment about how Star Wars can be both thematically rich and dumb as hell at the same time is perhaps the most succinct comment I’ve ever heard about Star Wars that parallels my own feelings about the series as a whole. I don’t think that someone can really like Star Wars if they don’t appreciate the dumb stuff. There’s no way to separate the dumb/weird stuff from the “serious” stuff, as both are working in tandem of each other. As one of you said during your Lando Calrissian episode, at the end of the day, Star Wars is about seeing a robot going “beep-boop,” and in the end I think that’s what a lot of people want. I hope that Kathleen Kennedy hasn’t curb stomped the two of you to death, Cole and Victor, for talking about the Legends canon. Hope that you can both return as soon as you possibly can.
