    The Spark - God's Promise | His Attention

A spark can be defined as something that sets off a sudden force; and it is our prayer that this segment ignites and prepares you spiritually for worship.  God has many promises for us, but we have to know the promises in order for us to believe them. His attention is one of those promises: "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded." – James 4:8 (CSB)

    Though Grace Reigns, The Consequences Remain

    We often think that God's grace is a "get out of jail free card;" consequently, we frivolously make decisions thinking that we can simply pray our way out of trouble. Unfortunately, life doesn't work that way: every action has a reaction and every cause has an effect. God's forgiveness and grace may pardon us from eternal death, but there's still a price to pay while still on Earth. "What should we say then? Should we continue in sin so that grace may multiply?" Romans 6:1 (CSB).

God is our Shephard, and one of the ways in which He demonstrates His love is by listening to our heart's cry.

    Often times, we embark upon fasting and prayer as if it's some type of magical potion that will somehow fix all of our problems. The issue with this type of thinking is that we end up placing so much emphasis on "fasting and prayer," that we forget to actually draw closer to God. This sermon discusses the importance of allowing fasting and prayer to help us draw closer to God and further develop our faith.
