    Hey yall! Thanks for stopping by. I'm super excited today. The Super Cyto Girl Podcast has a guest on this week's episode. Our FIRST GUEST! Someone who has SUPER dope energy is a SUPER mom and runs a SUPER business. Angel Amaniyah Love AKA the Down to Earth Doula came to chat with me about how she struggled to share important points in her life because she didn't feel it was would be valued. As a homeschool and life-school teacher to her children, Angel learned to create all-natural, homemade remedies and medicines for her household. Angel uses the experiences she has had being a mom and naturally birthing her children to guide other women on their journey to motherhood. In addition to providing doula services, Angel also teaches the benefits of placental encapsulation and chronicles her knowledge in her blog Placenta Love.     I truly enjoyed this interview with Whitney Trotter who is the owner of Bluff City Health. Bluff City Health is a private practice designed to help individuals with eating disorders and disordered eating. Whitney stands apart and thrives in this field because she has clinical experience as a registered nurse and dietitian. She uses the knowledge she's earned in each field and incorporates that into treatment plans for her clients. I hope you learn something from this episode.

    Episode 5: Hormones Governing The Menstrual Cycle

    Hey yall. Happy Sunday. The world has been so crazy lately, no? Everything is all over the place. There's confusion, people are losing jobs and toilet paper is more valuable than diamonds right now! All I can do, is keep each and everyone one of you in my thoughts and prayers until this pandemic starts to subside. I hope you will do the same for me. In this week's episode of the Super Cyto Girl Podcast, we are discussing hormones that affect the Female Reproductive System. There are multiple hormones at play here but we will take things one step at a time. The goal is to keep the conversation about potentially confusing information as simple as possible. As I have grown as a scientist and person, I realize that we overcomplicate things way too much. Shoutout to all my college professors that made things way more complicated than they had to be.     Episode 6: COVID 19, Hormones, Sexual Assault Awareness month, Stress Awareness

    Happy April Everyone! Thank you for stopping by the show this week. The world is so crazy right now! I admit in the beginning of all this madness with COVID 19, I was not worried. It seemed at the time the virus was contained to certain areas of the world. Slowly but surely, the numbers keep creeping up. I wish this wasn't happening. I wish we could contain it better. I'm concerned BUT still optimistic. This is hitting everyone-HARD. Everyone. My hope is that we are able to come together and flatten the line of individuals getting sick. I hope the economy doesn't suffer too badly. On a lighter note, I am trying out some new music for the podcast. I will be debuting a few beats made my Kenji Wells. Kenji is a devoted track coach and music maker. He is also undefeated in any beat battle competition he has ever entered. Check out his featured music in the next few weeks. We will pick the winning tune together. Check him out-Kenji Wells on Facebook. I am finishing up the discussion we started last week on hormones of the female reproductive tract. April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. The topic of sexual assault is so heavy. It's so hard for me to understand how we exist in a sex rich culture but we don't want to talk about the bad that comes along with sex-one of which being sexual assault. I shared a few thoughts about my own experience. It's sad that we live in a society where there is always backlash towards the victim. I wish there had been a different decision made concerning my case but sometimes in life bad things happen. I will not let that moment define me. If anyone has been a victim of sexual assault, The Me Too Movement has an awesome website with tons of amazing resources including a glossary. The website is metoomvmt.org; April is also Stress Awareness Month. I know we are living in a time that it is difficult not to stress. All the uncertainty can definitely be a distraction, but I urge you to commit to things that will keep your stress low. Self-care is a must.     Episode 7: My Virtual Therapy Session, The Four Agreements Book Review, STD Awareness Month

    Hey yall. Happy Easter Sunday. I hope everyone is feeling great today. It's raining in Memphis but I'm blessed and in GREAT spirits. Thank you for tuning in this week. COVID 19 has literally taken over everyone's lives. As much as we try to focus on other things, the coronavirus is apart of our everyday existence whether we like it or not. I've been trying to stay level-headed and centered. In this week's episode, I talk about my first virtual therapy session and reviewing the book my therapist recommended. The book is entitled The Four Agreements. Every adult should read this book. It was truly a life-changer for me. I do plan on reading again. You can find the book here. April is STD awareness month. I did read somewhere that STD awareness month is normally geared toward pushing the importance of safe sex practices on teens and young adults. Truly, anyone who is sexually active needs to practice safe sex and a routine of getting tested. I spoke about HPV, the most common STD around, what tests are run on a women's health panel and why it's important to have a trusting relationship with your care provider. Thanks for stopping by!
