    You Were Called to Be Different!

    Everybody around you seems to want the same things and live the same way. So what happens when following Jesus means you don't? Abram was 75 years old when God told him to leave his country, his relatives, and his father's house for a land he'd never seen. No maps. No internet. Just a promise. And he went. God has been calling His people to live differently ever since. Moses heard it. The prophets kept repeating it. Jesus said it plainly when He told people He wasn't from here.     Why God Desires Compassion Over Sacrifice, Guarding Your Heart, and Living With Genuine Faith

    It is so easy for us as believers to slip into autopilot and just go through the motions. We show up on Sunday, carry a big two-pound leather Bible, and check off our daily app devotions, thinking we are in a great spot. That's not the way it works! God doesn't care about the surface things; He is looking straight at what drives your heart. Here's the thing: when life is relatively peaceful and prosperous, we tend to relax spiritually. That is the exact trap the Northern Kingdom of Israel fell into during the days of Hosea, and it is the same trap the Pharisees fell into when Jesus walked the earth. Look around at all the modern conveniences we enjoy today—if we aren't careful to examine and guard our hearts, we will repeat the exact same pattern when things get tough.     Going to War - Spiritual Warfare

    Some battles don't make sense until you realize who you're actually fighting. If the same struggle keeps wearing you down and nothing you try seems to touch it, this one is for you. It starts at the edge of a forest in The Two Towers, where the Ents finally see the damage they'd been ignoring. From there we walk into Luke 11:21-22, where a strong man stands fully armed, and Isaiah 59:17, where God Himself puts on a breastplate and a helmet. This is spiritual warfare without the cartoon version, and it's a lot closer to home than most of us think. The enemy shows up armed. So does God, and He hands you His armor.     Burning the Ships

    Most of us want Jesus and a backup plan. We follow Him on Sunday morning, then live by our own rules the other six days and hope it all balances out. Legend says Hernán Cortés burned his ships in 1519 so nobody could turn back. A farmer named Elisha did something like it with his oxen, and Jesus asked ordinary people for the same kind of discipleship. It sounds hard because it is hard.     Zoom Out

    Why does it feel like everyone else gets the blessing while you just get the next problem? If you've been asking God what in the world is going on, you're not the only one. Joseph had every reason to ask that question. He was sold by his own brothers, falsely accused, thrown in prison, and forgotten for years. Yet when he finally stood face to face with the brothers who betrayed him, he said something almost impossible to believe: God sent me here ahead of you to preserve life. It turns out a hula hoop on a school playground can teach us a lot about how we see our lives. Most days we're zoomed all the way in on ourselves. From Genesis 3 to Genesis 45 to Revelation 22, this is an invitation to step back and ask a better question: what is God's plan for my life, and where do I fit in something so much bigger than my problems?     The People of Mercy

    We slap labels on ourselves all the time. Christian, believer, good person. But if someone opened the can and looked inside, would they find mercy? Mercy isn't just feeling sorry for someone. It's kindness and compassion that actually moves toward the hurt. You'll meet a king who went looking for a man he had every reason to ignore, and a servant who was forgiven a mountain of debt and couldn't extend a fraction of it to someone else.     Don't See & Don't Hear! Are You Blind?

    You can have the best spiritual high of your life and still end up spiritually blind by the following week. That's not a warning about people who don't know God. It's what happened to one of the most respected prophets in the Bible.     Aggressively Against the Delusion
