Special Episode 169 Confessions of the Green River Killer by Maria DiLorenzo

In Special Episode 169:  Jill welcomes investigative journalist Maria DiLorenzo, the author of the new book Confessions of the Green River Killer: A True Story of Manipulation, Madness, and a Search for Justice. Maria DiLorenzo reached out to Gary Ridgway, a serial killer, who pleaded guilty to the murders of 49 women, to gather information about possible unidentified victims. Despite his typical reluctance to communicate with the media, Ridgway engaged in extensive conversations with DiLorenzo, resulting in hundreds of phone calls over several years. While DiLorenzo focused on uncovering investigative leads, these interactions became a complex psychological ordeal. Ridgway discussed his past actions, motivation, and philosophy on relationships- an eye-opener- during their conversations. The resulting true-crime narrative chronicles this long-term interaction and explores the personal impact of maintaining contact with a psychopathic serial killer on the author. Do not miss this intense conversation about one of America's worst serial murderers, his psyche, and where the investigation stands now.    Thinking about going to Crimecon 2027? Ep 166: Part 1 The Caregiver's Game- Unraveling Financial Deceit in the Shadows of Dementia: By Charles E. Wallace; "She is fine!"

Part 1: As Baby Boomers and Gen Xers age, many of us face the heart-wrenching reality of caring for a loved one with dementia. This insidious disease undermines cognition, often robbing individuals of their very identity. Chip, and his siblings encountered this heartache when their mother, Joell Fleming, began showing symptoms. Complicating matters, her children lived across the United States while she remained in her cherished home in Dallas, Texas. As they navigated this difficult situation, the need for a trustworthy caregiver became evident—someone who could assist with daily routines, cooking, shopping, manage medications, and ensure their mother's safety. But what is one to do when a caregiver lacks genuine concern for their client, manipulating her for her own nefarious purposes? What are the red flags? This is a critical warning for anyone caring for aging loved ones: Charles E. Wallace passionately hopes that no one else has to endure the distressing experiences he and his siblings faced in their mother's final years. Parts 2 and 3, plus Jill's exclusive interview with author and victim, Charles E. Wallace are coming soon! Subscribe so you do not miss a thing!  Buy The Caregiver's Game by Charles E. Special Ep 165: Dark Tide- Growing Up with Ted Bundy by Edna Cowell Martin and Megan Atkinson

Edna Cowell Martin grew up in a loving home in Washington State, surrounded by her parents and extended family. One of her cousins was Ted Bundy, the infamous serial killer responsible for at least 30 deaths. Bundy was executed in Florida in 1989. In her new book, Edna Cowell Martin details her experiences with Ted, whom she regarded as an older brother during her childhood and college as a young adult, while he was active as a serial killer. She contrasts his outward appearance as a "normal" man with the "dark tide" of his murderous impulses, exploring the lasting trauma and guilt that his crimes inflicted on their family. Genuine and truthful, Edna reveals the memories that have taken on a new context since Ted was first arrested in 1975. This is her story.
