Terrible Omens, Great Podcast

Wow. I really didn’t expect much going into this, especially considering how the topic is as far from my normal podcast picks ... So why is a Surreal Horror, Classic British TV/Radio, Nightmare Horror, sketch comedy fan spending time writing a 5-star review for a millennial’s relationship story?

Well for one - this IS a horror story, in its way.
And for another, Alane Gray’s narrative is amazing, done so breezily irresistible that I found myself being completely drawn in without realizing, listening to two and a half episodes before I could stop - and coming back for more the next day.

It’s a humorous recollection of a relationship doomed from the start, begun between two well meaning people on the same paths towards the future - but based on superficial bedrock ... two people with as different backgrounds, different psychological makeup, as might possibly be. And so even though it’s usually a “light, sunshiny” listen (for the most part), there are times when the title is VERY fitting. The “terrible omens” can be as painful to hear as they were for Alane Gray to say out loud in the narration.
