    294. What My Life Has Been Like on the Carnivore Diet

Send us Fan Mail Episode 294 — What My Life Has Been Like on the Carnivore Diet In this episode of Nourished Connections, I’m sharing what my life has actually been like eating a mostly carnivore diet. I originally committed to trying this way of eating for 90 days, but about six weeks in, I’ve already seen some surprising changes. I’ve lost around 10 pounds, my gas and bloating are gone, my cravings have dramatically decreased, the food noise is gone, my clothes are fitting better, and I’m waking up feeling more rested and energized. And here’s the part that still amazes me: I run a sourdough microbakery and teach cooking classes for a living. I’m around bread, desserts, and delicious food all the time, and I genuinely don’t feel tempted by it the way I used to. I’m also sharing what I actually eat, why two meals a day has started happening naturally for me, what has been easy, what has been challenging, how my husband is doing with it, and why I can honestly see myself continuing this way of eating long term. I’ll also talk about the difference I’ve noticed between keto and carnivore, how I stay motivated, and what I’ve learned about listening to my own body instead of following one-size-fits-all advice. This episode is not about telling everyone they should eat this way. It’s simply my personal experience and what I’ve learned so far. If you’re interested in trying a carnivore-style approach and would like support and accountability, I offer a 90-day coaching program. 291. When You Don’t Feel Like Doing Anything: Do You Need Motivation—or Do You Need Rest?

Send us Fan Mail When You Don’t Feel Like Doing Anything: Do You Need Motivation—or Do You Need Rest?Have you ever had one of those days when you just don’t want to do anything—but you also don’t want to do nothing? That was me today. I had things I wanted to accomplish, I knew I should exercise, and I wanted to feel motivated… but I just couldn’t seem to get myself going. Eventually, I decided to lie down, slept for two hours, and woke up feeling so much better. It made me wonder: how often do we assume we need more discipline when what we actually need is rest? In this episode of Nourished Connections, I’m talking about the difference between being unmotivated, overwhelmed, and genuinely tired. We’ll talk about why rest is an important part of homemaking, why you don’t have to earn your rest, and how to recognize when you need to push yourself a little—and when you need to give yourself permission to stop. Because good homemaking isn’t about squeezing the maximum amount of productivity out of every day. It’s about wisely caring for your home, your family, your time, your energy—and yourself. If you’d like more encouragement and practical ideas for creating a cozy, intentional home, I’d love to have you join my Cozy Homemaker Circle on Facebook.
