One Man and his Therapist

Stephen Dalton | Zak Powers

Real, uncut talk therapy sessions between Stephen (client) and Zak (therapist) on all of the mental health and personal struggles every human faces in life. We hope the authentic nature of these sessions helps you on your own journey. There’s something for every human here. Ten years ago Stephen was lost. He needed guidance and help to find the person he knew was meant to be. One day, in 2015, after coming close to death and hitting new lows, he picked up the phone and called the number of a therapist in his hometown of Dublin, Ireland. The person who answered was a very respected Therapist called Zak. Zak went on to help Stephen find the person he was meant to be, and so much more. Zak helped Stephen get sober from alcohol and move into a thriving and deeply peaceful new chapter of his life. Then the therapy stopped for a few years, and both men went on with their lives. But now, Stephen and Zak have decided to start Therapy again. Only this time, you are also invited to listen. Disclaimer: The opinions expressed by our presenters are entirely their own. 5. #20 Me. 4 Years Sober.

    11/13/2021

    #20 Me. 4 Years Sober.

Today I celebrate 4 years of sobriety. It’s been the best 4 years of my life on this wonderful adventure. When I stopped drinking I thought I was losing so much, I did not realise how much I was going to gain. My peace of mind (most of the time), a lot more joy on a daily basis, and of course my beautiful wife Rebeca who makes me laugh every day at least 100 times. Thank you to all of you for continuing to listen to the podcast, it’s a vulnerable thing to do, but I know that it helps lots of people and that makes it all worthwhile. If you’re starting out on a sober journey, just know it gets better and better if you stick with it. This weeks episode is just me reflecting on the last 4 years, and there’s also one of my meditations at the end. You can get access to lots of this content on my patreon as well.
