    2.8 And we're back!

After a sizable hiatus due to life and the various components therein, we're back with a very quick episode (compared to others) led by Tasha! "The Compact of Sorcerers, a brotherhood sworn to guard the wall between the human world and the demon realm, have relied only on one another for centuries. But now there's a traitor in their midst... Struggling medical student Clea Masters knows she's unique. Ever since her parents' death, she's been kept safe by an inexplicable force inside her that knocks back any threat. But when a demon attacks her, Clea is launched into a dangerous world she never knew existed. Her only ally is a lethal, seductive man who arouses a hunger stronger than anything she has ever imagined... Compact of Sorcerers member Ciarran D'Arbois will not let harm befall Clea. In her, he sees a strength he admires and a body he longs to caress. Yet demons are determined to break down the portal Ciarran has sworn to protect, using Clea as their key. Now as a rogue sorcerer leads the enemy ever closer, Ciarran and Clea have only one hope. Both must surrender to their darkest passions--and unleash their most dangerous, untested deisres. DEMON'S KISS--Which is more deadly, his passion or his power?" Summary taken from GoodReads

2.7 A long slow descent into Vegas

I this very delayed episode, Dani reads "Demon King" by Elizabeth Briggs! She also tried not to go mad even though she's super upset that she has to go through it all again.  "I made a deal with the devil. Now he's claimed me as his mate. When my best friend goes missing in Las Vegas, there's only one man I can turn to for help. Lucas Ifer. Billionaire playboy. CEO of Abaddon Inc. King of Sin City. And...the devil himself? Lucas-aka Lucifer-agrees to help me, but in exchange he wants one thing: me. He's dark, dangerous, and wickedly handsome. Oh, and evil incarnate. I should say no, but I can't. I'm that desperate. But when you make a deal with the devil, there's no escaping it. Now he owns my body for seven nights of sin. Even worse, he owns my soul for all eternity. I'm Persephone being claimed by Hades, and I have no choice but to enter his underworld and become his dark queen. Is there any light left in that black heart? Or will his darkness consume me?" Summary taken from Google Books because -Our- summary was not so kind of enticing...

2.6 Momma Didn't Raise No Quitter

Wherein Tasha tries very hard not to smash her head into a table after reading an awful book. Apologies for audio quality and serious delay of the published episode.  "Love Like This" by Sophie Love "Keira Swanson, 28, lands her dream job at Viatorum, a slick magazine in New York City, as an aspiring travel writer. But their culture is brutal, her boss is a monster, and she doesn’t know if she can last for long. That changes when Keira, by a fluke, is handed a coveted assignment and given her big chance: to travel to Ireland for 30 days, witness the legendary Lisdoonvarna festival of love, and to debunk the myth that true love exists. Keira, cynical herself and in a rocky place with her long-term boyfriend, is all too happy to oblige. But when Keira falls in love with Ireland and meets her Irish tour guide, who just may be the man of her dreams, she is no longer sure of anything."  - Summary pulled from GoodReads

2.5 "You owe me Pancakes! Blueberry Pancakes"

In the Danielle centric episode, we cover "Truth or Beard" by Penny Reid and drink a healthy amount of wine.  "Beards, brothers, and bikers! Oh my! Identical twins Beau and Duane Winston might share the same devastatingly handsome face, but where Beau is outgoing and sociable, Duane is broody and reserved. This is why perpetually level-headed Jessica James has been in naïve and unhealthy infatuation with Beau Winston for most of her life. Whereas Duane and Jessica have always been adversaries. She can’t stand him, and she’s pretty sure he can’t stand the sight of her… But after a case of mistaken identity, Jessica finds herself in a massive confusion kerfuffle. Jessica James has spent her whole life paralyzed by the fantasy of Beau and her assumptions of Duane’s disdain; therefore she’s unprepared for the reality that is Duane’s insatiable interest, as well as his hot hands and hot mouth and hotter looks. When Jessica finds herself drawn to the man who was always her adversary, how much of her level-head heart is she willing to risk?" Summary taken from Author's website.

2.4 "No Kitty, you're too loud!"

In this (admittedly late) fourth episode of the year, we return to Regency romance, but this time with a twist! There's no magic, but we get some fun lessons about the Bluestocking Movement that birthed women's lib "Trials of Artemis" by Sue London "Loving Lord Lucifer... An independent bluestocking sneaks into a library to read rare Greek texts and ends up with a husband instead. Jacqueline "Jack" Walters loves archery and Greek military history. In her third season she has failed to inspire so much as one marriage proposal and is planning to settle into the quiet life of a spinster. Gideon Wolfe, Earl of Harrington, has been avoiding marriage but a case of mistaken identity in the library has left him saddled with an argumentative and unwilling fiancée." 2.3 "Are we there yet?"

It's a vampire episode! One of the most iconic generes in supernatural romance is bi-coastal as Tasha follows the plucky Sora in San Diego and Danielle tags along with Annabelle in New York...And both of us are just waiting for it to be over. "Vampire Mage" by Janelle Peel - Tasha's book "Forced into hiding decades ago after his father’s murder, vampire prince Nicolas is ready to reclaim his throne. Mortal Anna, who is on her own search for answers, is the perfect pawn to help him achieve his mission. But neither planned for their fiery attraction…" Summary taken from BookBub "The Lost Vampire Prince" by Melody Raven - Danielle's book "Forced into hiding decades ago after his father’s murder, vampire prince Nicolas is ready to reclaim his throne. Mortal Anna, who is on her own search for answers, is the perfect pawn to help him achieve his mission. But neither planned for their fiery attraction…" summary taken from BookBub  Both books are currently free on BookBub (not sponsored) and available on most ebook platforms. 2.2 "Any time but now!!!"

It's Episode 2 of our second season (The first one was way drawn out, we know) and Danielle continues to enjoy the books she's reading?  She seems to be enjoying "Where Hearts Meet" by Maureen Driscoll, the first book in the Jasmine Cottage Series. "WHERE HEARTS MEET is a love story about loss, love and starting over. It contains explicit language and graphic sex scenes. It also gives hope to anyone who wonders if it's possible to love again." - summary taken from the Amazon page Meanwhile, Tasha resists slamming her head against the table after reading "The Sinclair Hound" by Caroline Lee. "As love becomes the greatest treasure of all, can Pearl and her Hound find a way to stay together, or will violence and family secrets keep them apart forever?" - summary taken from GoodReads page

    2.1 Wolves Everywhere!

On our first winter episode we jump into some werewolfy adventures with our new friend Danielle! April is taking a break from that podcasting life for a while, but we've got you covered and we're keeping the wine flowing and trudging our way through some seriously cheesy love stories! Tasha is reading "Tattered Loyalties" by Carrie Ann Ryan "As the worlds Brie and Gideon have always known begin to shift, they must face their challenges together in order to help their Pack and seal their bond. But when the Pack is threatened from the inside, Gideon doesn’t know who he can trust and Brie’s life could be forfeit in the crossfire. It will take the strength of an Alpha and the courage of his mate to realize where true loyalties lie." Summary from the author's website Danielle is reading" Wolf Kiss" by Christine DePetrillo "When wildlife biologist Dr. Brandy Wendon hears a pained howl in the Vermont woods, she ventures into the darkness and meets an injured warrior from another place and time.
