The Brain Ablaze Epilepsy Podcast

Thanks for starting this podcast. I’ve been wanting to start a podcast about my epilepsy for so long but have yet to do so. Listening to yours just made me realize just how important it is to give humanity to this condition. It makes me feel less alone to hear your thoughts and stories. Thanks so much!

I’m SUPER new to the epilepsy experience (diagnosed literally like a month ago.) And I’ve put off doing any research or checking any kind of resources, (you know, in case it just goes away by itself...) so I only just discovered this podcast like two days ago. But I’m finding it extremely helpful and comforting. I especially appreciate that it’s broken down into small bite sized info, so I can process little bits at a time instead of hour-long cram sessions filled with lingo that I don’t understand and won’t remember anyway. Plus it’s unique and helpful that it’s from the perspective of an insider who actually gets what it’s really like, and not just somebody who’s read about it. Thank you for this resource and this community, I will definitely keep tuning in. (Do we even “tune into” anything anymore? I barely even know what decade this is.)

David gives the honest truth of life with epilepsy, the weird, the uncomfortable and dare I say it, funny! You will appreciate the consistent focus on what those of us with epilepsy CAN do, instead of what this disorder takes away. It’s a great resource for epileptics, carers and those without epilepsy who desire to learn more about a disorder that is consistently misrepresented and misunderstood. As an epileptic, I valued the education on the different types of epilepsy and treatments that do not affect me personally. And I greatly appreciated interview the personal experiences shared. Thank you for your hard work! I discovered this podcast while taking time off to rest and recover after a tonic clinic seizure and blew thru all episodes in just a few days. Looking forward to more content in the future!
