What planners + clients are looking for in your work

Today's episode is bringing you some practical magic to start actually taking steps to curate your own work to start booking out your calendar with ideal clients and collaborators (planners, venues, florists, etc.). Be a part of the events where you look around and say "wow!  this is the DREAM TEAM", there is beautiful design and details everywhere you look that resonate with you, and the cherry on top is that the couple is the sweetest, easiest, clients that you've had YET: everytime. How do you get there?  It's through the energy that you put out, the way you value your own worth, and the way that you showcase all of your work.  Hillary shares a solo episode from a Planner's point of view sharing practical tips from her 10 years of hearing client feedback on countless vendors' portfolios.  Leave with both innerwork reflection questions to ask yourself, as well as practical "do's" and "dont's" that you can put into effect right away. The importance of Curation with Myriam Ménard

Photographer Myriam Ménard joins Casi and Hillary to talk about a common thread between all of their work: curation. What is Curation? Why is Curation so important? How do we begin to make our own curation choices? These are some of the things that are discussed in this episode as we chat with Myriam about how curation starts for her far before she even begins shooting a wedding, and she also shares her tried-and-true 5-step culling process that she uses every time in her own galleries! pass 1: do I like it or not (gut reaction) pass 2: duplicates: do any of these look too similar?  Choose just one pass 3: would I be proud to see this hanging on the clients' wall? pass 4: with the reminder: if I delete it they will never even know it existed: get ruthless! pass 5: which of these images BEST represents by brand, my ethos as a photographer? and voila!  you have a final, beautifully-curated gallery! “Couples who say they don’t want anything staged often imagine being left alone, but true candor still needs care.   Not performance, but presence.   I read the room quietly.   I understand complex family dynamics.   I sense shifts in energy during high stakes moments.   I protect the emotional integrity of the day.   That is discernment. That is curation.” Follow Myriam on instagram: @myriammenardphoto and visit her website: Myriam Menard Follow us on Instagram for so much more! @weddingsaltpodcast / @casiyostphoto / @kayloecreative
