24 Hours in Paros, Greece: Naoussa, Beaches & No Rental Car

What can you fit into 24 hours in Paros without renting a car? We arrive by ferry in Parikia, take the bus to Naoussa, swim at Piperi Beach, and return for dinner before continuing to Naxos the following day. In this Maxwell’s Kitchen Euro Trip episode, Cody Maxwell and Stephanie explore Paros by bus and on foot. Our visit includes a stay at KOKOON, Naoussa’s harbor and narrow streets, dinner at Cavo d’Oro, and Panagia Ekatontapyliani, commonly known as the Church of 100 Doors. There’s also the less peaceful side of Greek island hopping: crowds at the ferry port, waiting to board, and figuring out how everyone is supposed to fit onto the same boat. This route focuses on Parikia, Naoussa, and beach time rather than trying to cover the entire island. 24 Hours in Milos, Greece: Sarakiniko, Plaka & No Rental Car

Spend 24 hours in Milos, Greece, with us as we explore Sarakiniko’s moonlike coastline, watch the sunset in Plaka, and get around by public bus without renting a car or ATV. Our trip starts at Milos Airport, where we catch the bus into Adamas and check in at Tsakanos Home. Staying near the port gives us a convenient base for the afternoon’s exploring and the ferry out the following morning. From Adamas, we take another bus to Sarakiniko. The white rock formations and bright blue water make this the stop I would prioritize with only one afternoon on the island. Getting there is also simpler than the landscape makes it look: our airport-to-Adamas and Adamas-to-Sarakiniko bus rides cost €2 each. After exploring the coastline, we head back through Adamas and up to Plaka. We wander the narrow streets, find a view over the Aegean, and watch the sunset before dinner at Archontoula. Greek salad, tzatziki, kebab, bread, water, and drinks come to about €62 for two. We also cover our accommodation cost, the practical reasons for staying in Adamas, and how we fit the route into an afternoon, an overnight stay, and the following morning. This is a focused one-day Milos itinerary rather than a tour of every beach and village. For our route, the buses let us skip the rental counter and spend more time exploring. Check the timetable for your travel dates before following the same plan, since services can change. 24 Hours in Kraków, Poland: Auschwitz-Birkenau & Old Town

With 24 hours in Kraków, Poland, we visit Auschwitz-Birkenau, spend the evening exploring Old Town, and catch an early flight the following morning. It’s a tight itinerary, and Kraków leaves us wishing we had more time. Our flight lands at 11:05 AM, with an English guided visit at Auschwitz-Birkenau booked for 1:30 PM. We travel directly from Kraków Airport to the Memorial, where our visit includes Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II-Birkenau. We share how we arrange the transportation, fit both sites into the afternoon, and plan around a reservation that leaves little room for delays. Afterward, we head into Kraków and check in at Mikołajska 5 Apartments in Old Town. We arrive during the Pierogi Festival by complete accident, stepping outside to find food stands, music, and streets full of people. Dinner is grilled Polish sausage, pierogi, and beer at Krakowska Koliba. Then we walk through Old Town and Rynek Główny, the Main Market Square, with no complicated plan for the rest of the evening. Visiting Auschwitz-Birkenau is the reason we make this stop in Poland. Kraków itself becomes the unexpected reason we want to return. We also share what we pay for transportation, our guided visit, accommodation, and dinner. The episode follows our actual trip rather than a guaranteed schedule: flight delays, traffic, and visit availability all matter when planning a route this tight. In This Episode • Traveling directly from Kraków Airport to Auschwitz-Birkenau• Planning around a reserved guided visit• Visiting Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II-Birkenau• Staying in Kraków’s Old Town• Arriving during the Pierogi Festival• Dinner at Krakowska Koliba• Walking through the Main Market Square• Returning to the airport for an early flight Watch on YouTubehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ciE44HolHc4 Full episode and travel noteshttps://maxwellskitchenpodcast.com/maxwells-kitchen-podcast/24-hours-in-krakow-poland Detailed itinerary and planning guidehttps://maxwellskitchenpodcast.com/blog/auschwitz-from-krakow-one-day More Travel Guideshttps://maxwellskitchenpodcast.com/podcast/itineraries More Maxwell’s Kitchenhttps://maxwellskitchenpodcast.com
