    112. The Witch Wound: Why Women Fear Their Own Power (And How to Reclaim It)

Why do so many women struggle with the fear of being judged, misunderstood, or considered "too much"? In this Halloween-week episode of The Life with Liz Podcast, we're exploring the witch wound, a concept I've been reflecting on for years as part of my own journey with self-trust, spirituality, and personal growth. The witch wound is a contemporary spiritual and feminist framework for examining women's fears around intuition, independence, self-expression, and being seen. It draws inspiration from the history of witchcraft persecution and the broader ways women's voices and autonomy have been restricted. We'll explore the real history behind the concept, how women are reclaiming the word witch, and why these conversations still feel relevant today. I'm also sharing my personal experiences with perfectionism, people-pleasing, female friendships, and the complicated feeling of wanting to share something meaningful while worrying about how it might be received. And we'll touch on the sister wound, the ways comparison and exclusion can affect our relationships with other women, and what it means to rebuild trust in ourselves. In this episode: What the witch wound means and where the concept comes fromThe historical persecution of women accused of witchcraftHow the word witch has been reclaimed as a symbol of feminine autonomyThe connection between fear of judgment, people-pleasing, and self-expressionThe sister wound and our relationships with other womenThe difference between protecting what's sacred and hiding who you arePractical ways to reconnect with your intuition, needs, and boundaries Books and authors mentioned: Witch by Lisa ListerWomen Who Run With the Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola EstésSeason of the Witch by Ellen Vora, MD ------------------------------------------------ CONNECT WITH LIZ Watch my FREE training: Enjoy my FREE TRAINING: Step Into Your Power. 111. Embracing the Sacred Pause: Why I Stopped Rushing Through My Life (And How You Can Too)

I became an entrepreneur because I wanted freedom. Freedom to spend time with my family, follow my curiosity, write, create, and enjoy the life I was building. So how did I end up rushing through that very life? Earlier this year, I realized I'd become so accustomed to consuming information, producing content, and managing responsibilities that I was barely leaving room to experience the moments happening right in front of me. I decided to do something different. I intentionally stepped back from parts of my business over the summer and made more room for motherhood, creativity, and simply being present. And what happened surprised me. In this personal episode of The Life with Liz Podcast, I'm sharing what led me to embrace a sacred pause, why slowing down initially felt so unfamiliar, and what I discovered when I stopped treating every spare moment as an opportunity to be productive. In this episode: The realization that made me reconsider how I was spending my time. Why constant consumption and productivity can leave us feeling disconnected. What my sacred pause actually looked like as a mom and entrepreneur. The surprising resistance I felt when I stopped checking my phone and task lists. How creativity and everyday wonder returned when I made more space. Why rest doesn't mean giving up on your goals.Simple ways to create your own sacred pause without abandoning your responsibilities. If you've been feeling rushed, overwhelmed, or disconnected from the things that matter most, I hope this conversation encourages you to consider what deserves more of your attention and what might be able to wait. ------------------------------------------------ CONNECT WITH LIZ Watch my FREE training: Enjoy my FREE TRAINING: Step Into Your Power. 110. Making life-changing decisions w/Matt Harmody, MD

In this episode, I sit down with Dr. Matt Harmody, retired emergency physician, living kidney donor, endurance athlete, and advocate, for a powerful conversation about what actually gets in the way of life-changing decisions. After watching his father battle kidney failure, Matt made the decision to donate a kidney to a stranger through the National Kidney Registry’s paired-exchange program. While that story is remarkable on its own, this conversation goes deeper than the decision itself. Together, we explore the space between knowing and doing: the internal tension so many people experience when something feels clear, but taking action feels complicated. This episode isn’t about medicine. It’s about fear, hesitation, responsibility, and what it really takes to move forward when you know something matters. In this conversation, you’ll hear: • What it feels like to “know” something before you can explain it • Why clarity doesn’t always lead to action • The role fear and responsibility play in big decisions • What keeps people stuck even when the answer feels obvious • How Matt moved from awareness to action • Why action often creates clarity, not the other way around • The advice Matt would give his younger self before making that decision • What anyone sitting in hesitation needs to hear right now If you’ve ever felt stuck between what you know and what you’re doing, this episode will meet you in that space. ------------------------------------------------ CONNECT WITH MATT If you’re interested in learning more about Matt’s advocacy work, his experience as a living kidney donor, or his book Ascending America, you can connect with him here: mattharmodymd.com. 106. Why healing feels hard

If your personal growth journey has started to feel harder instead of easier, I want you to hear this: that doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong. In this episode, I’m walking you through why healing can feel uncomfortable, emotional, and even overwhelming, and why that’s actually a sign that something is shifting. We talk about how the patterns you’re trying to change were once protecting you, why awareness can feel intense, and how learning to stay with yourself through those moments builds real self-trust. I also share why nervous system support matters so much in this process, and how to move through emotional waves without shutting down. If you’ve been questioning your progress or wondering why this feels so hard, this episode will help you understand what’s really happening. ---- Watch Liz's FREE Workshop: Enjoy my FREE TRAINING: Step Into Your Power. 105. The personal growth trap no one talks about

If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by personal growth… like you’re learning so much, but nothing is actually changing, this episode is for you. I’m sharing a realization that completely shifted my perspective. For a long time, I thought I needed more information, more tools, more answers. But what I actually needed was something much simpler. In this episode, I talk about the trap so many of us fall into, consuming endless personal development content without actually integrating it into our lives. Because understanding something isn’t the same as living it. If personal growth has ever felt frustrating or like it’s just not “working,” this will help you see why… and what actually creates real, lasting change. ---- Watch Liz's FREE Workshop: Enjoy my FREE TRAINING: Step Into Your Power.
