The roots of self-sabotage often lie in low self-esteem, negative self-talk, and related negative emotions, which are continually reinforced by the resulting failure.  "... I am ALWAYS weary of the idea that I could be the worst thing happening to somebody, so I always have to check... cause... I don't know?
