I’m a Radio & Podcast Producer plus Host, Voice Over Artiste / Voice Actor & MC. These sessions are conversations with people whom I find very interesting. Either their personality or their work / cause shines through & in most cases both! Most whos celebrity value amongst Indians or internationally cannot be questioned, some who have risen to the occasion & despite personal & professional pressure have shown the light to us. Some speak on very relevant & topical themes, others speak about their lives in a manner that shall make sense even if we hear this decades from now. I try to listen more than I speak & ask relevant questions based on a combination of my laborious research & study on them or the theme they are covering plus elements of my own intuition about them that come to the fore as the conversation unfolds.     we all miss naz thats the gorgeous iranian actress nazanin boniadi - who excused herself from this second season of the lord of the rings : the rings of power. however, tyroe who plays `theo` her son and ismael who plays `arondir` her lover miss her like hell, of that there is no doubt. it is no surprise then that this conversation spends quality time talking about naz and her character `bronwyn`. tyroe has grown in height and maturity since i met him at the season one premiere in mumbai. the aussie lad and me had spoken a fair bit about cricket i remember but this time, in singapore at the season 2 red carpet and premiere it was all about him tackling a lot of darkness and heavy emotions as an actor at such a young age!     JD Payne has the widest smile in hollywood and hes always smiling! helps that hes cowritten `Star Trek Beyond`, `Godzilla vs Kong`, `Jungle Cruise` and now is Showrunner & Executive Producer on The Lord of the Rings : The Rings of Power seasons one and two. Markella Kavenaghs `nori` is easily the most loved character over two seasons of the amazon prime video series and stunning as she is off screen she messes herself up for the young adventurous harfoot girl quite nicely!     i was really looking forward to my 2nd meeting with the very accomplished charles edwards after my 1st tryst with him in mumbai when `the lord of the rings : the rings of power` season 1 released and the asia junket was held in mumbai city. this time it was destination singapore where amazon prime video india flew a few of us senior journalists down for the red carpet and premiere for season 2. charles wecolmed me warmly and along with the very talented charlie vickers (who plays the darklord sauron) proceeded to give me a splendid interview covering a lot of ground. in particular all that is happening in the world of the elvin smith celebrimbor whom he portrays. edwards is a legend in british theatre and has won 2 SAG awards for his role in `the crown`. he can also be seen on tv and film in `downton abbey` , `the duke`, `the witches` and others. watch out for vickers - he has the easy charm of a future hollywood blockbuster star and 2 seasons of rings of power have already sent him in the direction of worldwide stardom. enjoy this podcast and do tell me what you feel post hearing it in the comments below! “The HrishiKay Sessions” are produced & presented by Hrishikesh Kannan popularly known as Hrishi K Thanks for listening.     i know sumeet raghavan from a time when we were both voice artists going in and out of a historic dubbing / recording studio in the late 90s and early 2000s called `radiowani` in mumbais worli area. we met after ages and exchanged so many notes and stories from the days gone by. hes now a stand up comedian and actor extraordinaire and if anyone needed a modern day version of rk laxmans famous `common man` as eulogised by the great cartoonists daily illustrations on the cover of the times of india it had to be sumeet. let me add to that - wagle ki duniya the tv hit which was such a rage in the 90s directed by the great kundan shah was based on this very common man. and when the trio who comprise modern day tv royalty thats jd majethia, atish kapadia and sameer kulkarni decided to bring back the epic series with a modern twist as `wagle ki duniya nayi peedhi naye kisse` they turned to raghavan to reprise the role originally played by the brilliant anjan srivastava. mrs wagle in the original was bharati achrekar and now pariva pranati takes over and does such a brilliant job. the duo rolled in with so many little joyful nuggets theyve shared, BTS moments - all ready to share. and we celebrated the completion of 1,000 episodes on sony sab tv and sony liv of indias favourite slice of life comedy series. congratulations guys and the rest of u pls do let me know what u think of this wonderful chat featuring sumeet, pariva and yours truly?! “The HrishiKay Sessions” are produced & presented by Hrishikesh Kannan popularly known as Hrishi K Thanks for listening.     this is an epic interview. `manthan` the iconic film was financed by 500,000 milk farmers in rural #Gujarat (paying Rs 2 each) in 1976 as their mark of gratitude towards the milk cooperative that dr kurien helped them form! Today the print has been restored by the `film heritage foundation` and shown at the `cannes classics` section at `festival de cannes` to a rousing reception & a standing ovation. shivendra singh dungarpur from the film heritage foundation , the great naseeruddin shah & the master auteur shyam benegal tell me never before tales of the movies making & restoration. How kaifi azmi wrote the dialogues, vijay tendulkar co wrote the story, prahlad kakkar & kalpana lajmi assisted shyam babu , how govind nihalani on camera & Dr Kurien himself were so solid at every stage of the movie making process🙌 and the magic of smita patil that still endures.     this is an annual ritual for us. tanya bami series head netflix india and me to sit down at the beginning of a calendar year after netflix india has announced its slate for whats coming up and do a deep dive. shes most kicked about the comedy genre and in all honesty netflix doesnt get enough kudos for its work in the genre. `mamla legal hai` was a runaway hit and tanya announces a brand new season & the fact that 192 countries cant get enough of `the great indian kapil show` is there for all of us to see. from bollywood to cricket theyve got all the bumper guests and the return of sunil grover. im excited by the prospect of sanjay leela bhansali as well as yashraj films and excel entertainment bringing their vision to netflix. `dabba cartel` & `ic 814 the kandahar hijack` seem like shows i will binge into. tanyas very clear that old favourites like `kota factory`, `mismatched` and `fabulous lives` had to come back with fresh seasons - such was the clamour amongst subscribers / members. ive know tanya professionally since her wizcraft days and personally too because both her kids and both my kids were in the same school - our younger ones in the same class, total besties. and ive known her to always be gracious with her time and taking feedback from me and a host of other journalists. she has her antennae up and her ears to the ground which is what makes her and that other powerhouse of a lady at Netflix India, Monika Shergill so special. the service / platform is lucky to have them and i continue to enjoy every minute spent picking their brain or chatting with them. happy listening! “The HrishiKay Sessions” are produced & presented by Hrishikesh Kannan popularly known as Hrishi K Thanks for listening.
