    #17 Existential Crisis

    “Kalau kamu tidak pernah mengalami krisis eksistensial, kamu belum hidup sepenuhnya” -D.A.D I feel like that quote is better said in Indonesian... it gives a more dramatic effect, no? Existential crisis is a phenomenon that is widely talked about yet sometimes misunderstood. Some say that it is a phenomenon where we question our motivations in life; Others say that some have it due to a lifestyle of hedonism - where a person seldom feels any hardships and was struck down when said hardship comes to them in the form of an existential crisis.     #16 Generalization: a tool for survival, or a tool for destruction?

    Facts can be generalized, but generalizations cannot be made into facts – Ajeng The trait of generalizing seems to be widespread in society; Not only Indonesian people but the whole world. This can be seen very clearly on social media, if there is a commotion, of course, there are one or two profiles that generalize the target's attributes. On the other hand, if something is special, there are of course one or two profiles that generalize to that attribute. If generalizations can be inferred to have both positive and negative effects - in general - Can we say that generalization is constructive? or vice versa? Listen to find out!

    #14 Social Pressure

    "We live in a society" -The Dark Knight Does that sound familiar? Yes of course, it came from one of the best movies ever made. And the person who said it; Joker is one of the most beloved villains of all time. So what does that have to do with our topic? As individuals we are bound by the shackles of society, unable to be free to do as we please or risk losing your livelihood for the smallest of things society does not agree with. This phenomenon occurs worldwide and it's even more prevalent due to the existence of Social Media. What is it you ask? It's social pressure - a curse to some and a blessing to some. Most must have felt this multi dynamic phenomenon and so we wish to discuss its aspects purely with our opinions due to its unstable and diverse effects to different people. Curious?     We live in a situation where thoughts and opinions of the majority are always true while the opposite is true for minority thoughts and opinions. In addition, many of us still rely on the assumptions of others - particularly the assumptions of the aforementioned majority group even if there is a chance that their assumptions are wrong. Furthermore, we can't conclude that something is 100% true or false especially in career planning. In this episode we will discuss these assumptions regarding those with a career that is not aligned with their educational background (and is this not what the majority think is wrong?).     #11 Cuties, a needle in a haystack situation?

    “If you were to enter a situation where you know that almost everyone is against you… what will you do?” This is the question that we’ve (re: Fikar) asked ourselves before making this episode. The French Movie marketed by The American Company Netflix is filled to the brim with negativity before it’s even released. Curious movie enthusiasts will hesitate to watch this movie due to the amount of stigma and societal judgement pressed against them should they actually like the movie. Because of this, any positive or even neutral reviews for this film will be torn apart and its reviewers cancelled to oblivion. That is why for this episode we’ve recruited a third member for our podcast - a “specialist” you might say - to aid us if things go south. In this episode, we will discuss Cuties holistically; looking at every element that makes this movie so unique (and controversial). We will also discuss why it is so difficult for even ourselves to be completely objective when reviewing this film. So strap on, put on your surgical mask and gloves, sharpen your scalpels and let’s dissect this beast of a movie.

    “What I’m afraid of as a centre… is that people comment on my physical appearance first and I don’t like that.” - Shani JKT48. Looks may be deceiving… or does it? In this episode we will discuss how physical appearance may have an effect on our perception on things. Some may think that when a person who is deemed attractive gets a promotion or being praised for their work - it is not because of their skills and talent - but instead because of their attractiveness. In a similar vein, someone who is perceived as less attractive missed the promotion because they are not noticed by their higher ups due to being less attractive.
