    Ep. 118 - Starting A Business At 18

A restaurant at 18 sounds bold. Living through the part where the market changes, the street empties out, the lease stays locked in, and you’re still responsible for your team is the part most people leave out. We sit down with Jade to talk about what it’s like to build a hospitality business from scratch, chase growth, and then face the moment where effort alone can’t save the model. Jade shares the unglamorous realities of entrepreneurship: fixed costs, risk-heavy events, debt pressure, and the emotional hit of being treated like you did something wrong even when you’re fighting to handle everything with integrity. We also dig into identity and leadership, how a founder’s business becomes a “signature,” why advice like “just market it differently” can miss the point, and what it takes to look in the mirror and decide to stop. From there, the story turns to reinvention. Jade moves into event work, launches Eve Events, and learns what separates a nice production from a meaningful experience. We talk corporate events, leadership programs, award shows, and why “hybrid” didn’t replace being in the room. Her strongest takeaway is simple and hard to execute: design for connection, then add the details that make people feel part of something bigger. If you care about entrepreneurship, small business resilience, hospitality leadership, and event planning that actually works, listen now, then subscribe, share, and leave a review so more people can find the show. Ep. 114 What no one tells you about living at the hospital for four months

#in2motivation sponsored channel Leadership, Communication and much more for curious minds.  hosted by Ligia Koijen Some stories don’t ask for your attention, they take it. Not because they are loud or extraordinary, but because they carry a kind of truth that quietly disarms you. The kind that reaches into places we rarely visit, and reminds us of what being human actually means. This is one of those stories. For four months, Spencer Waldron and his family lived inside a hospital room. Not visited it. Not passed through it. Lived it. Day after day, night after night, in a space where time stretches, where uncertainty breathes, and where every small moment becomes everything. And somewhere inside that reality, something deeper reveals itself. Not a framework. Not a lesson. But an experience of life stripped to its essence. Today, we’re not talking about endurance as a concept. We’re stepping into endurance as it is lived, through relationships, through presence, through the kind of humanity that only appears when there is nowhere else to go. This is a conversation about what remains… when everything else falls away. Ep. 112 - The Boardroom’s Last Taboo: Why High-Level Leaders Fear Deep Emotion

Why do we freeze when a direct report gets vulnerable? Why does "emotion" feel like a threat to the bottom line? In the high-stakes world of executive leadership, we are trained to prioritize logic, data, and strategy. But there is a silent "tax" being paid in boardrooms and C-suites globally: the fear of human emotion. When leaders view feelings as "noise" or a sign of weakness, they lose the very data they need to lead effectively. In this episode, we pull back the curtain on why high-level professionals are often deeply uncomfortable when others show emotion.  If you’ve ever found yourself wanting to change the subject when things got "too personal," this episode is for you. It’s time to move beyond the boardroom’s last taboo and learn how to lead humans, not just spreadsheets.  Support the show 🎙 The Coach is Next Door  🌍 Hosted by Ligia Koijen Ramos | Co-founder In2motivation 🔗 Discover more: In2motivation.com 📩 Get in touch: info@in2motivation.com 📢 Follow for insights on leadership, mindset, and human connection. Episode 111 - The Future of work is emotional

Leadership is becoming deeply personal — and neuroscience explains why. In this episode, Ligia Koijen Ramos explores how emotional regulation, safety, and presence are now the real foundations of effective leadership. As society shifts from efficiency to empathy, the future of work demands leaders who can connect, feel, and create coherence. A reflection on the human brain, the changing world, and why emotional intelligence is no longer a skill, it’s a necessity.
