    Champions Day

What makes Detroit the City of Champions? How are the histories of Detroit's major sports teams intertwined? Two US History teachers, Adam Hellebuyck and Chris Hemler speak with Charles Avison, author of "Detroit City of Champions: the Story of the Most Important Season in Detroit Sports History" and "Detroit City of Champions: The Players (Volumes 1 and 2)" to answer those questions and many more. Learn about the year that saw Gar Wood, Joe Louis, the Tigers, Lions, Wings and many more celebrate records and championships. A special thanks to James Linck whose music is featured in the podcast.
