    Before God Uses You, He Builds You

    God can call you in a moment—but becoming who He has called you to be takes time. In Acts 9:19–31, Saul has surrendered his life to Jesus and immediately begins telling others about Him. But the Apostle Paul we know today wasn't formed overnight. His journey included years of growth, testing, rejection, opposition, faithfulness, and obedience. In this message, Pastor Nick looks at Saul's early walk with Jesus and reminds us that God may be doing more in you right now than through you. Maybe you're wondering why you're not further along. Maybe you feel like God has called you to something, but nothing seems to be happening. Or maybe you think you need to know more, grow more, or have everything together before God can use you.     What are you still holding back from Jesus? In Acts 9, Saul’s life changes completely when he stops resisting Jesus and finally surrenders. The man who was persecuting Christians becomes a completely different person—and his story forces us to ask an uncomfortable question: Have I actually surrendered my life to Jesus, or am I still holding something back? In this message, Pastor Nick shares from Acts 9 and his own testimony about burnout, resisting God, letting go of the things that keep us trapped in our old lives, and what it means to truly follow Jesus with no turning back.     Brother Saul: Grace for the Unlikely | Acts 9:1–19

    Saul was one of the greatest enemies of the early church. He approved of Stephen’s death, dragged Christians from their homes, and traveled to Damascus intending to arrest even more followers of Jesus. But everything changed when Jesus met him on the road. In this message from Acts 9:1–19, Pastor Sam teaches through Saul’s unlikely conversion and the obedience of Ananias. Although Ananias had every reason to fear and resent Saul, he followed Jesus, placed his hands on him, and called him “Brother Saul.” This passage reminds us that no one is beyond the reach of God’s grace. Jesus meets people at their worst, transforms broken lives, and calls His followers to love, forgive, carry one another’s burdens, and pray for those who oppose them. No matter what you have done or how far from God you may feel, it is never too late to turn to Jesus.     Are You Sure Your Faith Is Real? | Acts 8:4-25

    In Acts 8:4–25, Philip brings the gospel to Samaria, where many people place their faith in Jesus—including Simon the sorcerer. But Simon’s response reveals a sobering truth: it is possible to be around the things of God, say the right words, and still have a heart that is not right before Him. This message challenges us to look beyond outward religion, spiritual experiences, and simply going through the motions. Are we pursuing Jesus Himself, or are we pursuing power, recognition, comfort, or what God can do for us? As we study Philip, Simon, Peter, and John, we will see the difference between a counterfeit faith and a genuine relationship with Christ. We’ll also be reminded to test every message against God’s Word, repent when our hearts drift, and abide in Jesus.     The Blessing of Discomfort | Acts 8:1–8

    Persecution broke out against the early church, forcing believers to leave Jerusalem and scatter throughout Judea and Samaria. What appeared to be a devastating setback became the very thing God used to spread the gospel beyond the city. In this verse-by-verse teaching through Acts 8:1–8, Pastor Nick contrasts Saul’s religious pride with the faithfulness of Stephen and Philip. Saul believed he was serving God while actively resisting Him, while Philip remained surrendered to God and continued preaching Jesus wherever he went. This message reminds us that God does not waste our trials, hardships, or uncomfortable seasons. The difficult path may be the very place where God strengthens our faith, uses our story, and brings joy to others through the gospel.     Are You Resisting God? | Acts 7:1-60

    Stephen stood before the very council that condemned Jesus to death. Instead of defending himself, he boldly proclaimed the gospel. In this verse-by-verse study of Acts 7, we walk through Stephen’s powerful sermon—the longest recorded sermon in the book of Acts. By tracing the lives of Abraham, Joseph, Moses, and Israel’s history, Stephen reveals a sobering pattern: God continually calls His people to Himself, yet they continually resist Him. The same warning applies today. It’s possible to know the Bible, attend church faithfully, and still resist the work of the Holy Spirit.
