    Weekly Worship - July 19, 2026 Sermon

Sermon Series/Stubborn in Prayer: When God Doesn't Answer Prayers Right Away (Reverend Ross Henzi) Have you ever prayed a similar prayer and wondered if anyone was listening?  ·       Maybe you’ve prayed for healing, but the diagnosis hasn’t changed. ·       Maybe you’ve prayed for a marriage, a job, peace of mind, relief from anxiety, freedom from addiction. ·       You prayed yesterday.  You prayed last month.  You prayed last year. And heaven seems…silent. There may be nothing more difficult in the Christian life than waiting on God.  We know God can answer.  We know God loves us.  But we don’t understand why he sometimes waits.  That is where many believers struggle.  We wonder, “Did I do something wrong?”  “Has God forgotten me?”  “Is he listening?” God invites persistence because persistent prayer keeps bringing us back to him.  Prayer doesn’t change God’s love for us.  What prayer does do is remind us of where our hope is found, even if the answer has not yet come. Maybe today you are living in the silence.  You’ve prayed.  You’ve waited.  You’ve wondered.  The Canaanite woman would tell you, “Don’t quit.”  Don’t assume silence means God’s not listening.  Don’t mistake delay for rejection.  Jesus heard every word she prayed.  He hears every word you pray.  He has not forgotten you.  He has not stopped loving you.  His timing is perfect.  His mercy is endless.
