World on Fire S1 E7 Recap & After Show: Making Amends, Losing Everybody

As Harry prepares for a dangerous mission he tries to make amends with his mother, with Lois, and her father. Robina tries to be a mother, Douglas tries to be a friend. Lois has her (and Harry's) baby and accepts Vernon's marriage proposal. Nancy visits Douglas in Paris and faces a proposition to save Albert from her minder that she just can't accept. Kasia is caught and sent to the gallows but an explosion allows her to escape where she's reunited with Harry. She tells him that she's not the same person he married. Who was that man at the top of the hill?? World on Fire S1 E6 Recap & After Show: Paris Has Fallen... And So Has Everything Else

Danger is closer than ever as the war continues. Paris has fallen without putting up a fight and citizens are impacted immediately. Webster fears for Albert after he is notified of his arrest. If that isn't enough on his plate, he sneaks Tom out of the hospital after being questioned by German soldiers. Harry returns home for a brief period and meets with mother-to-be Lois. Their conversation goes well until he over steps his boundary and loses Lois for good. Frustrated and wanting to help the cause, Harry volunteers his services as a spy. In Berlin, things have taken a bad turn as Mr. Rossler and his wife are taken in for questioning. The worst seems to be over until a tragic incident leads the party member to his breaking point. World on Fire S1 E5 Recap & After Show: Shell Shocked

Harry comes in to his own as he leads a group of British soldiers out of Belgium and towards safety at Dunkirk. Lois meets pilot, Vernon Hunter, who's smitten with her. While she's carrying Harry's baby she agrees to correspond with him. As the war continues and Germany advances, Douglas Bennet grows increasingly worried about his son, Tom, who's in the middle of Dunkirk helping soldiers escape to British shores. Rabina Chase doesn't quite know what to do with Douglas' attempts to form a familial bond with the grandmother of Lois' child. Herr Rossler does the unthinkable by killing Frau Pessler in his empty factory because she knows too much about his daughter's condition. What's even more shocking is who Herr Rossler asks for help in disposing of the body. World on Fire S1 E4 Recap & After Show: Guess Who's Coming To Dinner

As episode 4 picks up, war seems to be at some of the characters' front door. With German soldiers killing people in her hometown everyday, Kasia continues to defend her country the best way she can. With fond memories of Harry to get her through, she finds new German soldiers to set up. As she kills more soldiers, she realizes the immediate consequences of her actions. You would think this would make her stop but it only adds fuel to the fire. While she plays her part, Harry plays his and prepares for combat. Life threatening situations cause him to second guess his every move and could do more damage for his unit. Of course we can't leave out the last piece of this love triangle. Lois returns home and tries to wrap her mind around the idea of being a mom. Her temper grows when she finds out her father tells Harry's mother the news without her consent. Every time a character thinks they have a grasp on the world, something comes in and changes their path. With Warsaw in ruins and Germany and Russia carving out their slices of Poland, Lois' brother, Tom, gets a dose of reality when the ship he's on comes under German bombardment. Lois arrives at Harry's military camp where she makes it clear that she won't accept his apology, something made all the harsher when he learns that she's pregnant. Robina learns to care for Jan, something she didn't do with Harry. When young Jan is picked on at school Robina comes to the rescue. Douglas is home alone worried about his children who are off fighting for Britain. He's made all the more worried when he doesn't receive word if Tom was killed in battle.
