    Last week the club celebrated Women and Girls round. Following our premier league match against Hawthorn, head coach David Wansbrough gathered his five international players onto a panel for a fun discussion about their hockey journey. This episode is a live recording of the panel discussion. Participating are our home grown Hockeyroos stars Laura Barden, Sophie Taylor & Krissie Bates; and our fantastic guest players Belgium Red Panther Joanne Peeters and The Cherry Blossoms Hazuki Yuda from Japan.

    Season 2 Episode 03 - Tokyo 2021 With Pottsie & KA

    This week Wansey and Ando return to host. David Wansbrough of-course is an Olympic champion himself and is currently transforming our women's premier league group as head coach. Lachlan Anderson heads up high performance for Hockey Victoria and is head coach of our men's premier league group, currently playing great hockey and sitting at the top of the Victorian premier league. We're super excited that the guys are presenting, fresh from Tokyo; Kookaburras assistant coach Anthony Potter and Hockeyroos assistant coach Katie Allen. Pottsie is a past camberwell state league player. Plying his trade in the Don Argus era. You can hear more from Pottsie with Colin Batch in series 1 episode 8. KA is a Commonwealth, World Cup and Olympic gold medalist and member of the Australian Women's Team of the Century. She was, I believe, the first female head coach of a Victorian men's premier league team; winning a premiership in her first year. You can hear more from KA in series 1 episode 12. Listening to hear all about the Olympic campaign with our two great coaches giving insight into everything including preparation, selections, opposition analysis, shootouts and the village vibe.     Episode 30 - Phil MerrimanHamish Ridland presents Phil Merriam, who joined Camberwell in Minkey and played through the ranks to State League 1. Phil then moved into coaching with stints at TEM, Powerhouse and Footscray before moving to the AFL industry working in High Performance with Hawthorn Football Club and is currently head of Strength & Conditioning at Melbourne Football Club. You'll hear how Phil got into hockey and played a role linking our generational players in the early 2000's. You'll hear the guys' memories of Jesse Foster and learn about Phil's instrumental role in establishing the Jesse Foster Cup which is played each year between TEM and Camberwell to highlight Men's Mental Health. Listen to learn about how Phil moved into AFL strength and conditioning, working at Hawthorn and Melbourne football clubs and discover some great insight on hockey training and recovery.     Episode 29 - Junior to Senior Transition

    In this episode we'll look at what's next for our top aged juniors as they transition into seniors. We'll canvas common questions and concerns from players and families on issues including communication, selection and player safety; and we'll meet a couple recently graduated players to hear about their experiences of the program and playing senior hockey. Men's and Women's coordinators Tim Oldham and Pip Mann will detail the transition programs and pre-season arrangements. We'll hear from five recently graduated players on topics including differences playing senior hockey, balancing school commitments and getting involved in other areas of the club. You'll hear how the senior sections manage player communications and how team placements and weekly selections are managed. In the final section we presenting the audio from the junior section awards which were held on zoom last month. You'll first hear an introduction from club president Simon Winter before Junior Chair Steve Laussen announces the awards.     Episode 28 - WPL Coaches Geoff Perriman & David Wansbrough

    Liv Bell joins our hosting crew to present Women's Premier League coaching team Geoff Perriman & David Wansbrough. Geoff Perriman as you'll learn has extensive experience. An AHL player himself he has coached Waverley and Hawthorn Women's Premier League, the Tasmanian Tigers state team and secured no less than 9 APS premierships with the Caulfield Grammar girls. Wansey needs little introduction to our hockey listeners: Camberwell Life Member, Left Inner in the club's Team of the Century and Olympic Kookaburra with over 200 international caps. He's previously coached our Men's Premier League and many junior club and state teams. With some personnel moving on, others in Perth with the national program, young players pushing for selection and a new coaching team; 2020 was to be an exciting transformational year for our Women's Premier League group. you'll hear about the coaches' careers, how they managed the challenges of 2020 and kept the group connected, our development progress and how they see season 2021 developing.     Episode 27 - MPL coach Lachlan Anderson Around this time last year our Men's Premier League program were looking to appoint a new head coach; and after some discussions were delighted to secure top candidate in Lachlan Anderson. A strong start to the pre-season ensued with renewed purpose and determination. As you'll hear a terrific off-site camp focusing on conditioning, trust and teamwork led into training and practice matches featuring some very encouraging passages. The COVID pandemic then arrived and ultimately cancelled the season; denying many of our supporters and members the opportunity to see the group's progress and meet new coach Ando. Listen to hear about Ando's early career; playing with the Vikings and Junior Australian teams, his move into coaching at club and representative level and insight into coaching both men's and women's groups at Premier League. You'll hear Ando's thoughts on Hockey One, challenges dealing with the interrupted season and impressions coming across to the club.
