    Throughout our lives we plant many seeds of hope with people but usually we never know which seeds take root or which plants continue growing. In this episode, we hear a story of perseverance and overcoming the odds. We also hear about a police Sergeant who spent his career mentoring at risk youth, fueled by the time his own son spent in prison and wanting to spare other kids that experience. We find out what happened when he received a letter from one of these kids 10 years after he planted seeds of hope.

He has taught Sequential design for over a decade at the Art Center College of Design. Additionally, he lectures all over the world, discussing Negotiations, Pricing & Budgeting, Leadership Mindset, Branding, Graphic & Motion Design, Social Media Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Business Management, and Client Relations.  We were fortunate to meet Chris in an absolute act of fate. We discuss our fateful meeting and dive deep into the struggles which Chris has overcome in life, leading him to ultimately find his identity. We discuss his childhood and how he used his imagination to escape and make his own place to fit in. He shows true vulnerability and shares that he realized in life you need to be brave enough to risk sounding stupid.     Making Connections

    Karl and Kathryn discuss what they can share and why they have a passion for helping others. They both have lived a life of connecting deeply with people. They discuss why when you give, you get more than what you give. How fate and Twitter led Kathryn to deep healing and accidental public speaking at Epicurrence design conference. Overcoming thinking success is a fluke. Quieting the inner voice and believing in yourself. How this experience and cancer taught Kathryn to think, "Why not?" You never know what will come out of things so if you feel something pulling you, listen to your intuition, it might just be fate. Although we cannot tell you everything, I hope we told you one thing that brought you light today.
