    Parshva Parivartini Ekadashi

    Ekadashi is a sacred day of fasting from grains and legumes, purification, spiritual practice, and developing our relationship with God. 🙏 The name Parshva Parivartini means “turning over.” During Chaturmasya, Lord Vishnu rests on Ananta in the ocean of milk. On this Ekadashi, He turns to His other side. He rests on Shayana Ekadashi, turns on Parshva Ekadashi, and awakens on Utthana Ekadashi. 🍽️ You may observe the fast according to your ability:
• fruits, milk, roots and water
• one meal of permitted foods
• or a strict dry fast for those who are healthy and experienced The fast begins from Brahma-muhurta on September 22 and is broken after sunrise on September 23. September 23 is the appearance day of Lord Vamanadeva. On Ekadashi, it is especially auspicious to chant, meditate, read sacred scriptures, sing kirtan, serve the Lord and Vaishnavas, visit a temple, and listen to spiritual talks. 🌱 Dana — charitable giving
Ekadashi is also an auspicious time for seva and giving in charity. If you would like to support spiritual activities and help spread Vedic knowledge, you may make a donation as an offering to the Lord. 🙏 📖 “One who observes this sacred Parivartini Ekadashi ... will undoubtedly attain all kinds of happiness in this world and, ultimately, the kingdom of God.”
— Brahma-vaivarta Purana

    Annada Ekadashi

    Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakura writes: “Just as service to the master is the fundamental function of the servant, so service to Vishnu is natural and inherent to the jiva (soul). This is called Vaishnavata (Vaishnavism), and every jiva is a Vaishnava.” This is a day when we can remember the Lord more deeply and try to serve the Vaishnavas. And if you are just beginning your journey into Vedic culture, start with the Bhagavad-gita. Nowhere else is the nature of the world, the nature of the soul, the different paths of yoga, and the highest path of devotion — bhakti — described so beautifully and completely. 🔗 Resources for studying the Bhagavad-gita: Srimad Bhagavad-gita — The Hidden Treasure of the Sweet Absolute

    Pavitraropani Ekadashi

    🍃 Pavitraropani Ekadashi, also known as Putrada Ekadashi, is one of the important Ekadashis in the Hindu calendar. This day is observed on the 11th day of the Shukla Paksha (waxing moon phase) of the Shravana month (July–August) in the Hindu lunar calendar. The name "Pavitraropani" is associated with the ritual of offering sacred threads (pavitra), which are placed on the murtis (deities) and around the necks of devotees as a sign of purification and devotion. This ritual symbolizes the purification of mind, body, and spirit. 🍃 According to legends, observing Pavitraropani Ekadashi brings spiritual purification and blessings, while also protecting a person from sinful actions. On this day, devotees of Lord Vishnu observe a strict fast, spending their time in prayer and reading sacred texts.

    Kāmikā Ekadash

    According to the Puranas, worshipping the Lord with Tulasi leaves carries immense spiritual power. Seeing Tulasi, touching her, offering prayers to her, and offering her leaves to the Lord are said to purify a person and help free them from fear, suffering, and the reactions of past actions. 🌿 It is said that one who faithfully offers Tulasi leaves at the lotus feet of the Lord receives the opportunity to develop pure devotion.

    Śrī Śayana Ekādaśī

    🌿 Śayana Ekādaśī, also known as Padma Ekādaśī, Deva-Śayanī Ekādaśī, or Viṣṇu-Śayanī Ekādaśī, marks the day when Lord Viṣṇu, together with the demigods, symbolically enters His divine sleep (yoga-nidrā). This day also marks the beginning of Dakṣiṇāyana—the Sun’s southward journey.

    Yogini Ekadashi

    “One who observes a fast on this sacred Ekadashi destroys the accumulated reactions of past sins and becomes increasingly virtuous.”
— Brahma-vaivarta Purana 📖 The glories of every Ekadashi are described in the Vedic scriptures—the Puranas. Ekadashi is often called the mother and father of devotion to God. By observing this sacred fast on these auspicious days, we take another step on the path of awakening love for the Lord. 🍜 A complete fast or a water-only fast is considered most beneficial. If this is not possible, it is recommended to avoid grains and legumes, eating only simple vegetables, fruits, and nuts. Preparing meals at home is preferable. This day is especially favorable for spiritual practices, chanting the holy names, meditation, and studying sacred scriptures. Ekadashi occurs twice each lunar month, offering us a regular opportunity to purify our minds and deepen our spiritual consciousness.

    Nirjala Ekadashi

    In Kali-yuga—the age of quarrel and hypocrisy, when Vedic principles are diminished or greatly restricted, and when proper charity, ancient Vedic practices, and sacred ceremonies are rarely observed—how can people become purified? The scriptures give us a simple and merciful opportunity: by observing Ekadashi, one can become freed from the reactions of past sins. (Brahma-vaivarta Purana) 🕊️This is the most powerful of all Ekadashis—Nirjala Ekadashi, meaning "without water." Observing this fast strictly is said to bestow the same benefit as observing all 24 Ekadashis of the year.

    Parama Ekadashi

    Parama Ekadashi is one of the most powerful Ekadashis and occurs during the sacred Purushottama Month (Adhika Masa). The word “Parama” means “supreme” or “highest,” indicating the special spiritual potency of this holy day. 🌿 According to the Vedic scriptures, observing Parama Ekadashi helps free one from the reactions of past mistakes, purifies the heart, and awakens spiritual aspiration. It is said that even small efforts made for spiritual advancement on this day yield greatly multiplied results. 🙏 On this day it is especially auspicious to:
• observe fasting according to one’s ability;
• spend more time in prayer, meditation, and mantra chanting;
• read sacred literature;
• engage in charity and selfless service;
• reflect on one’s true spiritual nature. In the Bhagavad-gītā, Lord Krishna explains that acts of sacrifice, austerity, and charity purify the heart. Therefore, Parama Ekadashi is considered an especially favorable time for inner growth and spiritual renewal.
