Silver and Steel

Silver and Steel is not your average D&D campaign. By average I mean a campaign where the players take time to think things out and build plans and strategies. Silver and Steel is what happens when four (soon to be six) players are given free reign to be as creative and free-thinking as they want to be. The DM, Jasmine Bhullar (@ThatBronzeGirl) is a willing participant in the insanity, creating characters that feed in to the players absurdity. The effect is a glorious chaos that somehow creates a cohesive, compelling story. If you've never listened to or played a D&D campaign, Silver and Steel is well worth your time. It's fun, crazy entertainment that occasionally takes itself seriously.

This podcast is AMAZING. As I listened to D&D Beyond Heroes, I really do wish Keen & Briv would come in cause all the rest of the team is there, but otherwise amazing!!!!!!!!!! It of course not the same as Beyond Heroes, because nothing can compare to that, but as most of the crew is there, it’s very similar (Without Briv & Keen’s fun & jokes). Recommend.

I loved Beyond Heroes, and most of the characters and cast members are carryovers from that podcast (RIP). So I have tried to give this a chance, but it just doesn’t scratch the same itch. Jasmine is creative, but there is no real overarching plot line to tie this mess together. The characters basically wander around doing silly things like rescuing sea turtles, playing games at a carnival, and now spending two episodes in a baking competition. I don’t need my D&D to be filled with murder hobos, but there have to be some sort of stakes to keep me interested as a listener.

CAUTION!! SPOILERS!! So in the first episode, cally came up from the ground in the road. Then later when they go back to where she came up, it’s in an ocean cave. That’s not right. But besides that, it’s not bad
