Episode 102: I Lost 55 POUNDS FASTING 18 HOURS... THEN LIFE GOT WEIRD

Send us Fan Mail In this episode of The Odd Nerd Podcast, I talk about losing 55 pounds while fasting 18 hours a day, what the weight loss journey has really felt like, and how my mindset has changed along the way. Then things get random in the best way. I get into a woman giving me her number at a coffee shop on a piece of paper with a note that said, “I like your face,” and why that kind of thing feels like it only happens to Michael B. Jordan, a Hemsworth, or somebody with superhero lighting following them around. I also talk about the couple that climbed the Empire State Building and turned it into one of the wildest proposal stories I’ve seen, plus what that says about love, effort, and the current dating pool. Then I close the episode with an 80s cult classic conversation about The Legend Of Billie Jean, why “Fair Is Fair” still hits, how it fits into the teen rebellion movie era, and why I think it’s an underrated cult classic that more people should talk about. Weight loss, fasting, dating stories, viral love moments, and 80s movie culture… this episode went everywhere, but somehow it all made sense. One Bucket Away, One Border Away

Send us Fan Mail This episode is all over the place — in the best way. I start with how close me and Craig Visionz came on a bet that had us sweating. One more bucket from Josh Giddey. Warriors players selling at the worst time. Laughs, energy, and that sick feeling only sports betting can give you when you’re right… but not right enough. Then the tone shifts. I talk about a Mexico trip we had planned for the second week of March, how recent cartel violence made us rethink it, and memories from my first time going to Sonora, Mexico — border moments, unexpected chaos, and real fun. It turns reflective as I catch myself realizing how American it is to stress travel plans while people are living through real danger and businesses are struggling. From there, I slide back into my lane — Scream 7, why that franchise still matters to me, and how it’s one of the rare horror series that understands legacy, trauma, and survival. I close by circling back to sports betting — how it changes the way we watch games, how it messes with how we see players, and why loving the game sometimes gets lost when money’s on the line. Funny. Honest. A little unhinged. A little grounded. That’s the episode. Thank you for listening now please go back and check out some of my previous episodes. Everybody Was Single Until Valentine’s Day

Send us Fan Mail The Odd Nerd Podcast is back and this episode takes a sharp left real quick. We break down the NBA All-Star Weekend in LA — the new format, Wemby making players actually compete again, Ant Edwards’ energy shift, and why it just didn’t feel right without Steph on the floor. From Obama pulling up on All-Star Weekend to the cultural impact and the business side of what these events really do for cities, we get into why Phoenix 2027 is about to hit way different than 2009. Then we pivot to movies — Crime 101 is fire. Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Halle Berry, Barry Keoghan… a gritty LA crime thriller that really delivers, and we talk about why it works without giving too much away. And then Valentine’s Day… yeah. The wild part. Seeing people you never knew were in relationships. Seeing people you definitely didn’t expect to be in relationships. Seeing people you might’ve… crossed paths with… suddenly soft-launched and cuffed. We talk secret relationships, quiet love, social media privacy, and why Instagram still doesn’t have a relationship button. It starts as hoops. It turns into culture. And then it gets wild in this damn mf episode. Thank you for listening now please go back and check out some of my previous episodes.
