A Matter of Truth

Anthony C./Alex Z.

A Matter of Truth (AMOT) is the Christian podcast where two friends—one confessional Lutheran rooted in historic orthodoxy, the other Reformed—sit down for honest, casual, gospel-centered conversations. Though we hail from different theological traditions, we’re united by one unshakable conviction: God’s Word alone is the final authority for faith and life. Together we tackle the real-life issues Christians face today—culture wars, current events, relationships, doubts, evangelism, and the latest social media firestorm—always working through them with a rigorously biblical lens. You’ll hear us engage in strong (sometimes spirited!) biblical discussions about secondary, non-salvation issues—like baptism, eschatology, worship styles, or church governance—while always modeling charity, clarity, and an iron-sharpens-iron pursuit of truth. Yet we never lose sight of the gospel that unites us. Whether we’re breaking down a headline, wrestling with a tough listener question, or talking about how to love our neighbors and share Christ in a polarized world, everything circles back to one question: What does Scripture actually say, and how do we live it out faithfully? Pull up a chair, grab your coffee, and join the conversation. Because in a noisy world, what matters most is truth—God’s truth. #AMatterOfTruth #ChristianPodcast #ReformedTheology #ConfessionalLutheran #SolaScriptura #TheologyMatters #IronSharpensIron #GospelCentered #BibleBased #FaithAndCulture #SecondaryIssues #CharitableTheology Hosted on Acast. Is This Actually Biblical? | The Apostles’ Creed – Did the Apostles Really Write It… or Did We?

Join us in this eye-opening episode as we put one of Christianity’s oldest confessions under the microscope of Scripture. The Apostles’ Creed is recited in churches worldwide, but is it truly apostolic—or a later church creation? We dive deep into: • The real historical origins (spoiler: not written by the Twelve Apostles!) • How it lines up (or doesn’t) with the Bible’s core teachings • Why the early church needed this summary amid heresies and confusion • Its primary role in baptism vs. broader uses in teaching and worship • Whether creeds still matter today in a world of relativism and doctrinal drift We also discuss infant vs. believer’s baptism perspectives, the covenantal promises to households (Acts 16:31), and how the Creed points us back to the “faith once for all delivered to the saints” (Jude 3)—while remembering Scripture alone is our ultimate authority. If you’ve ever wondered whether the Apostles’ Creed holds up biblically, this episode is for you. Listen, test everything against the Word, and contend for the faith! #ChristianPodcast #BiblePodcast #FaithPodcast #GospelTruth #BiblicalTruth #Christianity #JesusPodcast #Scripture #FaithOnceDelivered #SolaScriptura #IsThisBiblical #apostlescreed #creeds #amatteroftruth Mentioned References: https://www.gty.org/blogs/B151109/is-the-apostles-creed-all-i-need-to-believe https://www.crcna.org/welcome/beliefs/creeds/apostles-creed Hosted on Acast. Jesus: The Savior Sent

In the hustle of the Christmas season, it’s easy to miss the most profound word of the story: Sent. Many assume Jesus began His existence in a manger, but Scripture paints a far greater picture—the eternal Son of God, who existed from everlasting, was sent into the world to become flesh and save us. If Jesus was merely created, He cannot save. But because He is the uncreated, divine Son given by the Father, Christmas becomes the thunderous moment when eternity entered time. This episode dives deep into biblical Christology, exploring the pre-existence and incarnation of Christ through Old and New Testament texts, the precise language of prophecy (Isaiah 9:6, Micah 5:2), Mary’s worship in the Magnificat, and the apostolic witness. We confront alarming survey data revealing widespread confusion in the church today and show why the distinction between “created” and “sent” is not abstract theology—it’s the very heart of the gospel and the reason we can worship with confidence this Christmas. Join us for a rich, doctrine-driven conversation that will reawaken your awe of the Sent Savior. Music provided by Reawaken Hymns and Nathan Drake. -https://www.reawakenhymns.com Their beautiful modern arrangement of Come Thou Long Expected Jesus was featured throughout the episode and is available on Apple Music, Amazon, Spotify, YouTube Music, and everywhere you stream or download music.
