Ek Rangbaaz Gaon Ki Bhumika | Phanishwarnath Renu | StoryJam Audio Story

    Well-known writer Phanishwar Nath Renu’s stories were set in rural India and carried the fragrance of village life, the lyricality of language, and, at the same time, the burden of unsaid nuances that crept in from class and caste divides. But this is a slightly different story...one of a small village's big dreams, its changing face as it gets enamoured by sudden money and glamour that comes to their colourful village. #PhanishwarNathRenu #Phanishwar #MailaAnchal

Amar Bel | Ismat Chughtai | StoryJam Hindi Urdu Audio Stories

Ismat Chughtai needs no introduction. A pillar of Urdu literature, she wrote fearlessly about oppressive gender roles and hypocrisy of the middle and upper-middle class. Her fearlessness got her into trouble often and her work was banned. But she didn’t care. She wrote instinctively and with candour. "That's the only way I know how to write", she would say.

    Doosri Naak | Yashpal | दूसरी नाक | यशपाल | Hindi Kahani | Audio Storytelling

When I began to look for more information about the writer, Yashpal. I was astounded. What I found out could be a whole episode in itself. Yashpal could be the hero of an action packed thriller! His life story was one of stealth attacks, days spent as a fugitive, betrayal by friends, prison time, shoot-outs and a romance that withstood the test of time. And then he gave it all up and settled down to a writer’s life. Thanks for listening and subscribing and sharing!
