Do You Really Need a Realtor? — Unpolished Podcast Ep. #39 — Cody Dodge

Cody Dodge joins Steve on the Unpolished Podcast for a conversation about real estate, entrepreneurship, social media, personal responsibility, and the growth happening across North Georgia. Cody shares how he went from commercial construction and project management into real estate, and why he believes most agents fail to provide meaningful value. He and Steve debate whether people truly need a realtor, when selling a home yourself can make sense, and when an experienced agent can prevent a deal from falling apart. The conversation also gets into commissions, negotiations, housing affordability, local investment opportunities, and Cody’s strategy for building an audience through useful North Georgia content instead of generic real estate posts. Beyond real estate, Cody opens up about fatherhood, small-town values, accountability, patience, and why success usually comes from consistently doing the boring work that most people avoid. Ep. #37 — How Hard Is It to Get to the MLB? — Cam Janik

Cam Janik was drafted in 2024 and is currently in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization. I’ve trained Cam since he was 12 years old, so this episode is a full-circle conversation about what it really takes to go from a young athlete with a dream to playing pro baseball. We talk about the jump from college to pro ball, why there are no “easy” at-bats anymore, plus the reality of being a catcher: controlling a pitching staff, game-calling, and the work that never shows up on a stat sheet. Cam also shares how he trains and recovers now that he’s playing every day and what discipline looks like when motivation disappears.
