    God gave them up | Romans 1: 24- 32 | 4th October 2026

This sermon looks at Romans 1: 24-32, where Paul continues to explain the consequences of rejecting God. We see 3 times the words "God gave them over" in this part of the passage, showing us that one of the consequences of sin is God allowing people to follow the desires and sinful patterns they have chosen. We look at what Paul means when he describes homosexuality as a dishonourable passion, and how God's punishments for idolatry is to give people over to many different forms of sins as they turn away from Him.May we recognise the seriousness of sin, turn away from idols and sinful desires, and continually turn towards God and His truth.Amen.

    God is angry with Sin | Romans 1: 18- 23 | 27th September 2026 |

This sermon looks at Romans 1:18-23, where Paul shows us that God's creation makes His existence and power clear, yet humanity can choose to supress that truth and turn away from Him.  This passage challenges us to recognise God for who He is, the one who takes sin seriously pointing us towards the holiness of God and our need for Him.  May we see You clearly, recognise the truth You have revealed, and never suppress it. Give us humble hearts that honour You as God and turn away from sin. Amen.

The doctrine of justification which changed the world | Romans 1:16-17 | 20th September 2026

This sermon focuses on the passage of Romans 1:16-17 which teaches us that the righteousness of God is revealed through the gospel, and salvation is only by faith in Jesus. We also explored the doctrine of justification and what it means for how we live. For example, putting our faith in Jesus, humbling ourselves before God, not trying to earn His favour and not allowing guilt to keep us from participating in church. We're also called to be like Paul, not being ashamed of the gospel and extend grace to others.May we trust in Jesus, rest in his grace and boldly live out the good news of the gospel.

    See things as they really are | Isaiah 6: 1-8 | 13th September 2026

This sermon looks at Isaiah 6: 1-8, exploring 3 main questions:1. Who God is- seeing His holiness, glory and greatness.2. Who we are - recognising our sin, need and response to God.3. Who Jesus is- seeing the hope, grace and salvation found in Him. May we have eyes to really see how things are and respond like Isaiah with hearts ready to say "Here am I. Send me!".

    Love the Church | Romans 1: 8 -15 | 6th September 2026

This sermon examines Romans 1: 8 -15 to highlight Paul’s deep affection for the church and his urgent impulse to preach the gospel to the lost. By using Paul’s example to call listeners to prayerful love for fellow believers, active use of spiritual gifts, and bold evangelism. Duncan summarises some practical responses including thanking God for fellow believers, praying unceasingly, longing to gather, pursue and use spiritual gifts and share the gospel expectantly. Lastly, there was an invitation for personal confession and renewal followed by a corporate prayer asking for transformed hearts and a greater evangelistic zeal.

    War of Loves | Matthew 22:34-40 & Luke 10:25-28 | 23rd August 2026

This sermon focuses on the war for the affections of our heart and the object of our love. Jesus says the greatest commandment and necessary requirement to inherit eternal life is to "love the Lord Your God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength" and to "love your neighbour as yourself". God is clear in his Word what he has called us to. The problem is, we have all failed to fulfil these instructions. We have replaced the pure, undefiled love of the eternal God for earthly loves. However, we need not fear! For we can know decisive victory in this war through Jesus Christ. For Jesus fulfilled this perfectly, took our deserved punishment on the cross, and rose up landing a decisive victory blow in this war. The importance of these instructions and the war of loves doesn't disappear once we belong to Jesus. Yes, we are securely held in him, but the evil one will try to steal the affections of our heart through sin, disobedience, and daunting callings. Yet, we are encouraged to look at Jesus again. For he laid it all down for us holding nothing back. So, how can we hold anything back from him. We are also encouraged by Jesus' encouraged that whoever sacrifices for the kingdom in this life will receive more in this world and in eternity. Lord, thank you for victory through Jesus Christ. Have all of my heart and help me to hold nothing back from you.

    The Offense of Grace | Jonah 3 & 4 | 16th August 2026

This sermon reminds us just how much God cares and lavishes grace upon us.  Jonah understood God abounds in grace and mercy. For God had shown this to him powerfully across his life. Yet, Jonah didn't feel this should be extended to the Ninevites because of his prejudice towards them.  Every follower of Jesus is called to in the power of the Holy Spirit show care, grace, and mercy to everyone around us. This includes to those who have acted wickedly and wronged us. We are also called to do this collectively as God's Church shining his light into the world. Lord, help us to see all people like you do, and to extend care, grace, and mercy to everyone around us.

    He Hears Our Cry | Jonah 2 | 9th August 2026

This sermon encourages us to trust that God hears our cries. Jonah finds himself in a desperate place of distress in the belly of a fish. His sin and disobedience has led him here. It is from this place that he cries out to God for help. Jonah acknowledges his sin before God and repents. His repentance isn't merely remorse, it is a concrete turning towards God, and making a commitment to follow God. God gracefully provided a way that Jonah was delivered from the fish straight onto dry land. He was restored and recommissioned to fulfil the task God had called him to do. Lord, examine our hearts and identify anything that hinders us from following you. Help us to develop a pattern of crying out to you in all seasons of life.
