An intellectual and serious approach to true crime storytelling. Laura and Sarah provide critical insight and keen analysis of criminal perpetrators (sans sensationalism or sardonicism) and extend compassion and deference to victims. One of the absolute best in the true crime podcast genre.
I kept trying, but it’s so boring

I’ve tried to stick with this podcast, but it’s so poorly researched, so boring and lacks talent in narrating these stories. It’s more like these gals love to talk to each other and forget they are making a podcast. So many other true crime podcasts available, I’d skip this one.

Although not your fault Alex Murdaugh was not taken from rehab he was arrested leaving rehab. Something you’re guest should have known. Now maybe the fit his high priced lawyer threw was compelling and they interpreted him saying “SC didn’t have to go get him (Alex)” as they “pulled”him out. But research it, he was leaving after entering rehab to recover from 10 or 20 year addiction of opioids (the year changes depending on the excuse offered up) and he was arrested. Do you really think senator Harpulian wouldn’t have thrown a fit if they pulled him out. It was a 100 year reign of terror wrecked in 1 night by his son Paul, on an overwhelmingly poor county (median income $30K) in South Carolina on Archer’s Creek killing 1 young girl and injuring 3 others on board a boat driven by Paul Murdaugh under age 21 and very drunk. Alex didn’t care about the injury or death. He lived on the family business built on victim’s blood. No, he was worried litigation coming out forcing him to reveal how he really got money. He didn’t earn it. He stole it.
Biased From The Start

This review is based on the Christa Worthington episode, a case that I have followed for a long time. Explaining the story, background, and history of the case was great. The problem began with the lawyer’s insistence with talking over the private investigator. The PI had some good points, but the lawyer refused to see that or let her finish before interrupting again and again because she disagreed and couldn’t see her partners point of view.
